Regarding the "armor" and knee pads on Superman, a possible explanation is that it is some sort of Kryptonian suit. They didn't have super powers on Krypton, so armor wouldn't be out of the question. He could wear it as a symbol/tribute to his home world rather than for protection.

At this point, I'm in for any change to Superman. They had to do something, and it probably should have been done years ago.

Superman is what got me in to comics in the first place, but I had to stop because the stories just got so stale. There's only so much you can do when you're pinned down by rules and tradition.

I agree on the change regarding Supes, considering the book was doing so much better when he himself wasn't present on his own title.

But I don't think it warrants relaunching the whole universe when there are quite a good amount of good titles.

Secret Six is/was awesome, it made a bunch of C-list villains into something. Have you read the original mini-series?

Damn. Those knee and shoulder pads are really great. All they need is more pouches, some leg-belts, and an unnecessary leather jacket to go over their spandex, and I'd say those characters are ready to go!

DC failed in letting Lee do the redesigns. They should've gotten Liefeld! Everything that man touches turns to platinum!

I'm normally not against change but just with Jim Lee's previous statement on how this whole relaunch is focused on acquiring "new readers" which leaves the question of what of the previous die-hard fans who'd stuck with them.

& OH YEAH Liefield would have done such a good job redesigning costumes for DC.
