I remember when I first got into comics looking at the Heroes Reborn Captain Amercia TPB and thinking that was the ugliest most ridiculous looking Cap I had ever seen and putting it on the shelf without knowing what it was about.

Swung by another comic shop while in the Bay Area this weekend after hitting up Ikea for potential detolfs (no dice) and spoke to the owner there about it. Seems all these guys are pretending to be all gay for it but when they tell you how good it's gonna be, they pantomime like they're stifling sneezes.

You're right! Out here in Pennsylvania they do the same thing. Hell, even when I was reading about the panels from SDCC, the creators didn't even sound like they thought it was a great idea.

I say let it fail, let Marvel/Disney buy the rights to DC Properties, and then there would be a whole new line of stories to write.

I remember when I was really into comics back in the 90's and I subscribed to a bunch of Marvel stuff. I used to be very pissed off when I opened my package and found 3 X-Men and 1 X-Factor book, all illustrated by Liefield. Comics in Brazil were really crap back then, and we had to wait many months until we got what was being published in the US. The comic books usually had a bundle of stories from different series and keeping track of story arcs was a nightmare. So you can figure out my disappointment after waiting a full month for my comics to arrive only to be faced with a pile of XTREME Liefiled junk.

Great free preview of all the 52 new issues. I will be buying a few. Is this a whole new story line of all the characters?

That's what Jim Lee said on the early statements regarding the reboot.

"It's to attract new readers" was the exact sentiment.

Seems to me more a necessary by-product of a ____ty reboot than a motivation. But maybe DC does just hate all the old ____ers who have been reading their comics too long. I don't know. Wouldn't surprise me, given how foolish this whole thing is.
