I just dOnt get why dc bought back more kryptonians
It seems to just destroy the whole superman concept
Hes the most Powerful of superheroes but it's ok because he's a good guy and only one. If there's lots of him it doesn't work.

Back to the reboot. Sucky idea won't read it. Bye dc

Shame.

The time is almost upon us. How do your lists look now? Here's mine:

Action Comics - Morrison + Superman = SOLD! I don't like the $3.99 price tag *at all* so this may eventually become a trade-wait title for me. But I'm gonna check out the monthly for a little bit and see how it goes.

Batgirl - Barbera Gordon is one of the few (maybe the only?) strong female characters who doesn't have to be drawn in one of those weird "twist the body so wee can see both the T and the A at the same time" poses, yet can still sell books. Not many characters have evolved the way she has and had it stick, so it's disappointing to see DC put her back on her feet and in costume. However, this is Gail Simone we're talking about, so it's either this or Firestorm for me. I'm picking Batgirl.

Green Lantern - I was going to drop this title after "War of the Green Lanterns" because Hal Jordan doesn't really interest me. Now that Sinestro is the GL of the flagship book, I'm in. At least until Hal gets his ring back, then we'll see how it goes.

Green Lantern Corps - I love me some Guy Gardner, so I'm definitely in for this one. Even if Guy wasn't there, I'd probably give this a shot because I do love the Corps.

New Guardians - I will follow Kyle Rayner to any title.

Justice League Dark - Stupid title, great characters and premise. Definitely giving this one a shot.

Suicide Squad - After "Secret Six", I'm totally in love with Deadshot and King Shark. I'll follow them to this title and see how it goes.

And then there are some maybes:

Blue Beetle - This just looks interesting to me. I might end up picking it up and seeing what it's all about.

Demon Knights - This title really intrigues me, but I get put off by a lot of comics that don't feature capes and tights. I dunno why, I'm just weird like that.

I'll trade-wait for JLA. This might sound stupid (especially because I'm buying Action), but the whole "set 5 years previously" thing kinda makes me think I can wait because nothing that happens in it will really "count". That may or may not be true, but that's the impression I'm getting.

I'm getting all the main regular dc titles,. NO image titles, frankenstein or vampires. Batwing doesn't make sense, that should have been just batman incorporated and have it flip between batmen.

Although usually not active on the weekend, DC’s The Source blog had two tidbits today coming out of Fan Expo Canada.

The first has to do with the return of the Justice Society. According to DC’s The Source blog:

There’s been plenty of speculation about the Justice Society in The New 52 – and we can now confirm that they will, in fact, be back! As with everything else with DC Comics – The New 52, however, there’s a significant twist. What is it? We’re not saying. Just. Quite. Yet.

“It’s everything you want, but not what you expect,” promises Eddie Berganza, DC Comics Executive Editor.

the rumored twist is that they will be from Earth-2. I gotta ask myself though, DC goes through all this trouble to reboot and streamline yet, they are going to introduce multiple realities/Earths already? to further confuse any new readers they might garner? :dunno

I heard that Earth-2 rumor as well. IT'd be a cheap way to explain the age differences or even to have a younger JSA. Hell I wouldn't be shocked at this point if they introduced Power Girl and even Kal-L that way.

There is a lot riding on Wednesday and I'm looking forward to it.

as much as i love comics.. i hope they keep the same premise..not like marvel..are they going to change the ethnic background on any of these characters not to be insensitive..but if your going to do something like that just create a frickin new character..

just noticed that they changed the design for wonder woman , reverting her back to wearing shorts.... simple redesign for the look but it does bring her back to a more classic wonder woman. just look up the dc comics site and the previously released pics on this forum to see what i mean

My list:

-Batman & Swamp thing(I really enjoyed Scott Snyder's work on American Vampire & Detective, so these 2 are definite must buys for me)

-Justice League(the title explains it all)

-Justice League Dark(At first I couldn't care less about it, but I saw a preview and it looked fantastic)

-Action Comics (This is Grant Morrison and Superman, the last time they got together, we had one of the greatest Superman, books of all time)

-All-Star Western (Once a Jonah fan, always a Jonah fan. I followed him from #1-70, and I'll follow him to his new #1 and beyond)

-Men of War (This is one of those interest titles, but if the new Rock's even half as awesome as his Grandpappy, I'm here to stay.)

-DC Universe Presents (I've always been a fan of anthology series, be it horror or otherwise, so knowing that DC's doing an anthology book with standalone arcs makes me excited)

Maybe's:

-JLI, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Batgirl, Green Lantern, and Demon Knights

my pick ups will be -
JLA
supes no 1,
all star no 2 er i mean action comics no1
suicide squad, big harley fan so i can wait to see what they do with the lady.

the rest depends on what they do with the characters in JLA and if the are worth reading on in their own books.
oh and batman no 1

Actually she will be alternating between costumes.

I will start with Justice League and then hit my favorite heroes like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Teen Titans, Batgirl, Superboy & The Flash reading reviews about the other titles adding as I go.

ok, i just found out about this relaunch. been reading since pg 1 and got as far as i could. verdict? i am still confused as all hell. i got the gist of them 'rebooting' certain characters such as supes and wonder woman.

but can someone please explain to me what is happening with the batman titles? i read things like, what's already been established with batman stays, and this isn't a reboot...oh and green lantern isn't getting rebooted...seriously, i'm still scratching my head.

please, can someone PLEASE sum up DC's plan with this 52 thing?

Welcome to the club. Don't think of it as a total reboot, but more as a soft reboot. For whatever reasons ($$$) some characters have been affected more by changes than others. But I agree, that statements like "the Killing Joke still happened" and now with the apparent return of Earth-2, things are still muddy. I guess we'll all find out in a couple of days.

:lol Sounds like you're caught up to where the rest of us are. We'll all find out together in the coming weeks.

This is where reading the TPB's comes in handy. By the time this hits me you guys will have already figured it all out and I can follow the nice easy path you all carved. :lol

Books that were selling aren't being significantly affected. Books that were having trouble drawing readers are being reinvented. (I haven't read many comics the past decade, but I've kept in touch. DC has completely ****ed around with Superman's continuity and need to smooth things out).

Just think of it as all the characters are getting a new timeline reboot, but for some characters (Batman), their lives in the new reality are not that different than those in the previous reality.

Realistically it is a reboot but they aren't calling it that because they don't want everyone to melt down. The heroes we meet in Justice League #1 have only been around for five years. Action Comics will look at the time before that since Superman is the first public hero whereas Batman has been doing his thing for a while and only recently was proven more than a myth.

They are keeping what they like and everyone likes so Sinestro Corps, Killing Joke, etc and purging what they don't like. The question is how do they fit over 70 years of continuity even keeping what they like and smash it into five years.

One thought that hasn't been proven or disproven is things like the Robins were Batman's original attempt at Batman Inc that he started training them but dropped it and kept them in action meaning that Tim, ____ and Damien can coexist. That is the big question just how they'll fit everything into five years.

OR They'll just put their middle fingers up and say they exist and that's that; and we don't have to explain anything because we don't know how.:dance
