Seems to me more a necessary by-product of a ____ty reboot than a motivation. But maybe DC does just hate all the old ____ers who have been reading their comics too long. I don't know. Wouldn't surprise me, given how foolish this whole thing is.

You never know. It seems like common sense that it would be a necessary consequence, and if they didn't want that happening, why would they do it? Obviously they're not going to say they're no longer interested in the business of everyone who has been committed to the stories for all these years, but I can think of no better way to tell them all off than this.

Uh.. See my post above yours. Kara's one of the dudes who digs having comic books rolled up and shoved in his butt.

Practically rolling every issue in the past & jamming it up the ass of the people who actually supported DC all those years.

:rotfl:lol:rotfl

There is 1 thing I like about this reboot - Peter Parker dies. Always hated that mofo :yess:

Wrong company, genius. Back to Pagoda Level 1. :monkey1 :lol

Re: The New 52

Who needs to consider it?
That's what Jim Lee said on the early statements regarding the reboot.

"It's to attract new readers" was the exact sentiment.

I'm late to the DC reboot party and just learned about it a couple of weeks ago. I was reading that historically, issue #1's have a high sale rate.

DC "rebooting" the entire universe though is quite a venture. The only thing is whether they "stick to it". Historically speaking, comics typically don't stick to their guns with reboots and more famously, with replacing a main character with another one (ie. Rogers is back as Captain America, Wayne is back as Batman, etc.). It might last a year or two but I see them planning another major crossover event and then the "regular DC universe" returns.

The DC universe has been _____*ed up for a long time. They've changed origin stories for several character NUMEROUS times that I think some fans are just lost. And this back-story heaviness has turned fans away, plus...the unsuccessful movies haven't done much to attract new fans.

Personally, I liked how Green Lantern was going, I liked that there was a DIFFERENT Batman, and that DC finally had some interesting Superman stories going on (Return of Kandor, Kryptonians everywhere, etc.)...but whatever, seems to be a pattern for DC but I hope it works out for the best.

Well, we are all about to find out soon. I have to add that there has certainly been some interesting and surprising stories coming out of Flashpoint books. If the stories are good in the coming titles, I just might overlook the new costume changes. Although, patches on Superman's knees are just too much to stomach.
