Couldn't find Batman today. All 4 of the LCS I went to were out by 2PM! :horror So within 4 hours this was sold out everywhere near me. Maybe even less than 4 hours!

My LCS (Dr. No's, which happens to be the same people that own/publish Comic Shop News) had TONS of copies of Batman #1. Catwoman, Red Hood, Nightwing and Birds of Prey are the ones they ran out of this afternoon, but they order the big titles by the boatloads.

Is that her name? I didn't see her in Batgirl or Suicide Squad. I assumed she was just in the "big name" issues.

Batgirl= She is on the splash page that has the skeleton in the middle. She is in the top right panel, behind the Ambulance

Suicide Squad- Page 5, panel 2. On the right side of Deadshot

so got both catwoman and wonder woman.

starting with wonder woman, well its a great set up , you dont need to know much about the character for this one , just some basic knowledge of the myth.
its a great read but its not perfect . a decent 4/5 rating from moi

now catwoman, well this is exactly what i expected from the cover, its raw , in your face and it holds no punch, it the year one kyles with a sex edge on top of it all. a 4.5 out of 5 for this one. it was better than wonder woman but due to the art... erm yeah....

but yeah it looks like the women of dc are getting more sexed up then ever for the reboot, even wonder woman has her nude moments. and the last panel for catwoman is not for kids and i dont think that the comic is aimed at them at all,

spoiler:

its let to believe that she and batman had sex but its more then visualized to let us know...

so make of it what you will, if you like some sex in your comic then no need for a google search for fan art, you got some here in both comics but with some control to it.

Got all my issues for the week. Went ahead and grabbed DCU Presents and Blue Beetle as well as Captain Atom. Off to my cave for the next few hours.

Picked up Batman today. Thought it was great! I can always count on snyder

Looks like my list is getting shorter.

Catwoman #1. Jesus. Almost pure smut. I was shaking my head throughout. I mean, I like T&A and kinky stuff as much as the next guy... but it's almost over-the-top here.

I'll read the first few issues, but if they do to her what it sounds like they're doing to Starfire, I'm going to regret giving up those pennies.

Dayum!... so Starfire's a total Ho now.

:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

That character has the potential to be as great as Wonder Woman.

But, she gets so little coverage (...

...) that you'd never guess. My one hope for this whole project was that they'd do something meaningful with her. What a dumbass.

If it gets better, I might go for the trade. The art looks great.

-Batman #1: Fantastic! Literally I can't decide if this or Detective Comics was the best of the New 52 so far. The art, storyline, all fantastic.

-Wonder Woman #1: Good but not great. I liked the Greek myths in real life and the portrayal of Diana but the book was a lot of fluff. Still will follow through two.

-Nightwing #1: Ok. I thought it was interesting that he let it leak that he was Robin for one year explaining the timeframe but overall a lot of fluff. Although I wondered if the villain tied back to the revelation in Batman #1.

-Supergirl #1: I liked. Another fluff book but I liked the disoriented Kara and realizing her powers, not to mention her arrival in relation to Clark. I did like her hearing various lines from other comics including Nightwing, Aquaman (obviously) and Birds of Prey and I like that it looks like we're getting another arrivals vs. The House of El line which despite era have been pretty good.

-Legion of Superheroes #1: Was a mess. Utterly heartbreaking. The book references Flashpoint directly which was weird but it's like it couldn't decide whether it was a partial reboot or a continuation. I don't see this book lasting and continuing the trend of LOSH books.

-Birds of Prey #1: Meh. I found myself really uninterested. I don't think I'll even keep up for issue 2.

-Catwoman #1: Not as bad as people are making it out but Winnick done ____ed up. It was trying to hard almost like trying to be Superheroes after dark. Selina was interesting and it was a lot of tits everywhere with a little Year One thrown in for good measure but not a must have by any means. It read like a fan fic.

-Red Hood and the Outlaws #1: this was the most disappointing. It has a ton of potential. It proved that the Original Teen Titans existed at one time! Although in mentioning Vic they'd have had to be a team and disband within a four year period...it showed that Jason and Grayson hate one another, that all of that history still exists that the fallout still exists. It places Roy though as GA sidekick which is a little strange considering the state of GA in his own book and had they wanted to this could have been the darling of the New 52 if they focused on Sidekick flunkies trying to still be involved underground but it read more like one of Zoe Saldana's last few flicks, almost trying to mimic The Losers and hell you could have cast her as Kori the way she was acting. Unsure if I'll keep this but I'll follow until the end of the first arc.

That's all for tonight. I'll read GLC but then I'll have to catch up later.

Catwoman #1 ranks down with Action #1 and JL #1 as the worst books in the New 52 so far in the way they completely mishandle and denigrate their classic main characters.

Shame on...

... Winnick, for making Selina Kyle a one-dimensional slut

... Morrison, for turning Superman into an unlikeable, sanctimonious social crusader

... Johns, for taking the character that put him on the map (Hal Jordan) and making him instantly more hatable than any villains in the books so far.

Bravo, guys. It's the "mid-tier" and upstart writers that are showing up the superstars right now.

I know Judd has been with the company for a while, but I wouldn't call him a "Superstar". His run on Green Lantern induced vomitting and save his run with Green Arrow and handling of the new Speedy, most of his stuff has been blah. His take on Catwoman and Batwing, both who could have been fantastic dynamic characters were both flat as hell.

Look at Kori and Selena, basically made the same type of character but at least with Starfire, there was the alien "Holier than Thou" aspect running that made it interesting in terms of dynamic with what seemed to be the still wet behind the ears Roy. Especially considering how that attitude and knowing that was Jason's secret way of Revenge

Catwoman literally was page after page to see how Selena could show off her breasts again....boringly. Kudos to Winnick.

I've only read Batman #1 from this week so far, I like to pace myself. :)

Batman certainly seemed more like a #1 in the "new 52" more than Detective did. For anybody living under a rock who has never heard of Batman before, this is their jumping on point.

Loved the art, and the writing was good too, but I just have a nagging issue with the technology. I know that this isn't Detective Comics, but all the detective work is being thrown out the window in favor of magic contact lenses and gloves.

I was really interested in trying out catwoman #1, but it seems to be going for crazy prices already since selling out. Don't think I'll bother trying to find one at a decent price if its not gonna be worth the bother. Haven't heard much positive about it. Is it really that bad?

In a nutshell:

Selena spends the first couple of pages pulling on her costume unsuccessfully and showing the readers her choice of bra color. Her place gets blown up. She goes to a friend for help. The friend is an informant on where to steal stuff from. She goes to a Russian bar to find a mark. She sees her old pimp there. Follows him into the bathroom and promptly exposes her boobs to get his attention. She kicks the crap out of him. Then changes into Catwoman and escapes the bar. Goes back to a penthouse which she is squatting in thanks to the informant and Batman meets her there. She have sex with the uniforms on and we are told as the reader this isn't the first time it happened and that Batman is usually upset with himself afterwards.

That's about it. I would call that pretty bad but there have been some fanboys who are loving the oversexualization of it.

I'm really not surprised Catwoman was such a mess, I still don't understand why Judd Winnick continues to be employed by DC his Batman run was pretty good bringing back Jason Todd, I've heard mixed things about his Green Arrow run and his Green Arrow Black Canary run was just plain awful.

It's also kind of funny that there is suddenly this massive amount of attention to why there are not more women working in comics and why there are so few female characters in comics and then DC publishes this kind of crap. It doesn't help the mentality that comics are not for women and they are willing to sacrifice them as readers so they can do stupid things like this.

I'd like to direct those of you looking for a female character in the new 52 done right, to Supergirl #1. I have no complaints with this book and am really looking forward to seeing where they go with this title.

I also picked up Blue Beetle #1, I didnt know anything about the character besides his breif stint on Smallville, But the issue was pretty cool! I like the writing, style and art. Ill be checking out issue #2.

Action #1 was cool IMO, hes a crusader for the run down metroplolis, its a little dark, some of the story elements remind me of Spiderman 2, I liked it though, Cool stuff!!

I also picked up Green Arrow!! I really liked that!! It reminded me alot of Smallville, Ill continue to read the series!

Picked up Green Lantern #1 but didnt read it yet

So far my fav is JLA#1, that was EPIC!!
