You guys realize that it's a metaphor for Damien's whole bag of issues right? The bat symbolizes Bruce buzzing around, watching, critiquing but as he catches it, does away with it and tosses it, just like he claims to want to do with his father, he turns his head in saddness because it isn't what he really wants.

Yeah, I got that. It's really not that deep. :lol In fact, that's precisely the kind of thing that makes me agree with whoever it was that said that they're just trying too hard. Sometimes, sublime is better. So far, this title just hits you over the head with these issues to the point of annoyance. It has one more issue to get better, or I'm dropping it.

BTW, that also goes for Justice League. I don't know what Johns' deal is, but he's really dropping the ball with these characters. The ante of annoying banter between DC's big guns is upped even more in Issue #2 with the arrival of The Flash. And Lee's art? Mega-meh. One more issue to improve or this gets the axe, too. I'd rather just miss it than read more of some of my favorite superheroes of all time coming off like Superdouches.

A little late, but i finally managed to get a copy of All Star Western #1. Loved it. Seems very jack the ripperish. Reminds me of From Hell. Loving the duo of Jonah Hex and Amadeus Arkham.
And only have about a week to wait till issue 2. :)

Got through a few of the week's new ones. Superboy was lack luster. Didn't have the same appeal as the first issue which was disappointing. I do like the characterization of Conner mainly because it's a more flushed out version of the Young Justice persona but overall it was meh.

I will say this, I picked up Red Hood and the Outlaws and really liked it. I don't care much for this version of Roy or Kori for that matter but always found the resurrected Jason Todd fascinating and this delves into that history a little further which I loved. The batsymbol on his chest is also familiar, I've seen it somewhere before but I can't place it.

Read Batman #2 today.
Overall it was a good story, and I love the art, but now the excitement of the new 52 has worn off on me, I'm just not sure how I feel about yet another mysterious villain in Gotham for Batman to get dragged into what could very likely be yet another long story arc with.
It just seems that that's all we get with Batman stories nowadays. A new myserious villain/villains with possible ties to the Waynes/Gotham and a nice long story arc to go along with them that never seems to resolve itself fully.
I don't mind the odd new villain here and there, but we seem to get one with every new story now!
I'd prefer a break from supervillains from time to time and maybe have a few mob/regular thug stories - or if we do have to have named villains use the ones we know and love in a good, fresh story that doesn't have to use a gimmicky plot or story arc.
Especially since this new 52 is supposed to be Batman's earlier years of his career, shouldn't we be seeing older, familiar rogues rather than ones we've never heard of before?

It's all just my own personal opinion of course, but I do find it puzzling to think that what Batman readers want to see nowadays is more and more new villains showing up with nearly every new story.

I just read Teen Titans #1. Actually quite liked it. I only really bought it because I'm a big fan of Tim Drake and wanted to read some stuff with him. Love the new suit design. And the story was enough to get me intrigued. I'll read a couple of issues and see if I enjoy it. The only other teen titans story's I've read were the couple of issues during the lonely place of dying story, which didn't do much for me. Will see how this goes. Still wish Tim had his own series though as Red Robin.

Just read Catwoman #1. I actually thought it was ok. Maybe because I had such low expectations. Haha. But I didn't think it was that bad. I do hope it gets better though.

I'm now still waiting for issue #2 of Batman and Catwoman. I been pre-ordering them from forbiddenplanet.com but they don't get here till days after release. Does anybody know somewhere to order from where they deliver at least pretty close to release day in the uk?

I use it. Makes it easy to keep track of release schedules. Fantastic app.

My lcs didn't put the three I wanted from last week in my box, despite my adding them. Picked Wonder Woman and Catwoman(both decent reads) up off the shelf, but no Batman.:( $150 price tag on a Batman 2 B&W cover.

its all a sales gimmick to get retailers to order more issues than they'd ever sell

True. I suppose they are completist bait for the retailers.

Anywho, my lcs sold out of every regular issue of Batman 2.:( I thought there would be plenty on the shelfs. Pretty sure it just came out last week.

batman seem to be one of the top sellers. I've got it in my subscription pull list, so no hunting for me lol

Anybody read Justice League #2 and feel like the dialogue belongs in Teen Titans?

I'm not sure about teen titans but it certainly didn't seem like a bunch of grown men who should be vastly more intelligent then they came across in that issue. I mean Tim in Teen Titans appears to be a lot more mature then they were acting in JL 2.

yeah i dont like how batman is peacemaker.... dude hes batman for god's sake...
