Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

They should just do away with that entire upper body. It almost seems like they made it unnecessarily complex. I'd think that muddy swirls would be easier to sculpt than intricate muscle fibers.:lol

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

teojlujan, Wave 2 was always solicited for February 26th. At least according to the original dates.

I shall have pictures of Killer Croc & Deathstroke on Monday. I'm picking up those two from a ebay seller I've bought some before.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Exactly, it's not a bad figure but it's not Clayface.

Seriously. He looks like he's made out of sand.

Whoever sculpted him apparently didn't bother with reference material.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

DC still had to approve it so even if he was sculpted that way, DC ended up okaying it so I would ask them why they did.

I'll have pictures of Killer Croc and Deathstroke in a 2 hrs. Need to find my camera and take some pics then upload. Any requests.

The painted on teeth on Killer Croc's mouth looks silly as hell.

Here you can see the reference picture given to the sculptor, no idea what it's from, but it does have the more detailed chest that the figures has. The rough sculpt of the figure doesn't have the muscles as defined and is closer to the picture. However in the video he than says it's sent to DCC for approval and changes. So it all started with DCC giving him some odd picture, than asking for more detailed muscles and the ice chunks.

I'm not too upset about it, as I like what's there besides the deep muscle lines on the pecks. I doubt there is time for change now given the release date, but you never know with DCC.

As for there not being any reveals at NYTF? I'm not surprised, because they only do two waves a year and the next one will be in late Fall most likely. We have SDCC in July which will probably tease some of the new figures, rest will probably get press released, than NYCC will have some of 2015's lineup most likely. I am surprised Two Face and Mad Hatter Batman weren't there though, that was a bit odd...

I agree, looks like staples, might look better in person though.

The teeth in his mouth are painted with a slightly yellowed white while one ones sticking out are way too white and bright. The contrast makes them look bad.

The floaty hips look really bad though. I'm glad it's more articulation, but I'm quite okay with the ball jointed Hips DCC has done on the other figures like the Asylum Croc, Grundy, Etc. Those look nice and function well enough. These probably function perfectly, but they look quite weird.

The rest of him and Deathstroke look really nice. However Deathstoke's head doesn't look spectacular, paint's a bit flat and the eye looks weird. Oh well, still looks great.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Yeah, they appear to be staples. I agree, the hips look off/bad but they function alot better than AA Croc and AC Grundy. A little bit more and he can do the splits. I should have took a picture of that.

The only colors that are flat are the orange, grey/black. The teal is a nice almost metallic or pearly finish. The eye is painted okay but its not centered.

I picked up the best paint apps from all the Croc & Deathstroke the owner had.

AO Croc is bigger then AA Croc? hmm I thought he smaller and as the years went by he got bigger more mutated.

Yeah, one of the things I liked about the Origins design (prior to the announcement this past week) was that it sort of evoked a realistic interpretation of The Animated Series Croc, but that headsculpt seems totally off base from what I took away from the design in the game.

That's weird that that's their "material." That's not even from the right game; that's Carlos D'anda's "Clayface" concept that he did for the Arkham Asylum character bios.

He got shorter as the years went on due to his mutations. Means more and more weight on the spine so more and more hunched.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

I don't get how this Croc is only $25 and the previous one was $50 :lol

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

Those damn proportion on deathstroke.... does anyone pay any attention to these things before they get made..?

Oh so that how that works. My Mutation/ Monster theories always seem to have them get bigger.

Re: DC Collectibles - Batman: Arkham figure series (Origins,Asylum,City)

At half the price of the previous one and considering all the articulation and the sheer size of the thing i'm really tempted to pick up croc now along with deathstroke and firefly.

Speaking of which whats the range of motion like for for deathstrokes hips? Can he take a knee?
