Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I hate this part - the waiting! Roughly 6 weeks to go until series 2 comes out now, and no news or info about future waves to tide us over until then either....
At least it's only a short 2 month wait after series 2 arrives until the deluxe line gets released, so the wait for those won't feel as long. Hopefully we'll get some new news on future figures/waves from SDCC too.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Urban Collector now has an ETA of December for the 3rd run of Series 1 & 2 Arkham Asylum figures

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah, I did consider selling Bane and rebuying a rereleased version, but I'm not sure whether to risk it or not. I might end up being late to pre-order and him being sold out everywhere, which would suck.... Mine's unboxed and they only go for about £50, so it's probably not worth it in the end.

Anyone got any idea when we'll see wave four of AC figures? Probably not for a while, but any chance we'll see perhaps one or two figures from the wave at the next big toy convention type thing? And surely Strange and Two-Face are basically definite figures for the next wave? Add Deadshot and Nightwing to that, plus a new Batman, and it'd be a great wave. Actually, wouldn't that be basically everyone by then? Except for Talia, and Deluxe Grundy/Clayface. Oh, and Calendar Man. And Black Mask. I really should keep a list of who is left.

You wouldn't miss out by pre-ordering too late if you order one NOW :duh

Wondercon is this week right? We might see something new then. And C2E2 probably after that and SDCC this summer. We've got lots of shows they can show stuff at still.

But there ain't nowhere in the UK to preorder from yet, I don't think.

I'd expect the next new thing we see would be the deluxe Grundy, right? That was mentioned aaaaages ago, it must be ready by now.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

To be totally honest, we have no idea if the re-release is even real or not yet. UC is the ONLY website relisting them so far. I'd think more was if it was confirmed yet.

And who knows on Grundy. I hope so, but I have no idea what they are doing with this line anymore.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

If I'm correct don't UC take a deposit for pre-orders?

They can't do that unless they're assured that these will be re-released at some point :dunno

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Urban Collector has an ETA of December so if anyone does decide to sell their Bane now it's a loooooing time to wait until you get a replacement. Sure, you'd make a bit of profit now, but then you'd be Bane-less for the whole year!!! :lol

As for wave 4 and new figures, I really hope we see something new by Summer. There are still a lot of characters that could be done and at least 2 more waves. It seems DCD are really cranking these out at the moment too so it's fairly likely we could get up to wave 5 by the end of early next year.
This must be DCD's hottest figure line at the moment so I don't see any reason for them not to continue with it until all the major characters have been made.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Got a bit of a dilemma guys that I could do with some opinions on.

Basically I really want to get series 1 of the Batman AA line and the plan was to keep them sealed but unless I wait till the end of the year and hope the 3rd production run does actually happen I've kinda resigned myself that it's going to be around £50 per figure going the eBay route.

The alternative is to get them loose of which I can get the entire series 1 line for under £70.

What do you think, are these the kind of figures that will keep their value sealed or is the high pricing at the moment simply because the games are fresh in everyone's mind and the figures are sold out?

Also would I only actually appreciate these figures if they are indeed unboxed?

Message me and I can may be able to help you out.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I'd go for the cheaper unboxed ones, so long as they're complete and in good condition. But, I don't buy them to keep them in the wrapper.

As a general rule, I do think DCD figures tend to keep their value/increase in value somewhat over time, depending on the popularity of the figures and especially if they're kept sealed. Saying that though, these Arkham figures seem to have increased in price a lot faster and higher than usual, so it's uncertain wether or not they'd keep these high prices or increase any more in the distant future.
With the third release of the AA series in December the prices could dip for a while but they'd likely go up again afterwards as I'm sure they won't stay around for long, especially Bane. No doubt scalpers will be itching to get hold of him.

Speaking of this re-release of the AA figures... it is extremely unusual for DCD to release waves for a second time, let alone a third, which definitely reflects the popularity of these figures. It does seem strange though that only one online retailer has them up for pre-order at the moment, unless they're the only ones willing to put them up at this very early stage.

Also, yeah, I would say that you need to have these unboxed to really appreciate them :)

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Anyone have the actual date for series 2 release? Also does anyone know if WonderCon had any news?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Sorry for going a bit off topic, but quick question if I may.

I've been out of the loop as far as the Mattel Arkhm Asylum/Arkham City stuff goes, and was just wondering if someone could tell me what version(s) of The Joker and Harley that Mattel has put out. I know they did an Arkham City Harley, and a 'sick' Joker (as part of a two pack with Robin I think?), but is that it, or have I missed some?

Many thanks.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Nope, those are the only versions of Harley and Joker that Mattel has made.
In fact, Mattel haven't made any Arkham Asylum figures at all, just Arkham City. Only seven characters in total too (Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Two-Face, Joker, Harley)

No worries! :D

Nothing Arkham City related at Wondercon unfortunately. I'd love to get some news before SDCC but I don't think it's too likely myself. I reckon the next news/reveals will be at SDCC, if at all.
