And while most games have been trimming down their manuals, and relying on tutorials and menu-screen information to teach the player, I'm pretty sure this is the first 360 game I've gotten than just didn't even bother with any sort of manual.

Halo 4 was my first big one - no manual of any kind....I know they want to save paper, but not having a manual on the disk is just lazy

I heard this game wasn't as good as 1 and 2? When I was playing the demo I didnt feel like Dead Space to me at all!

No where near the same level as the first 2 games. Its still better than most the crud we get though. I'm almost done with it and i'd give it a 7/10.

My personal opinion is it is not as good as 1 or 2. Don't get me wrong though it is still a great game but it didn't have any real scary or intense moments to me. My ranking for the DS games are as followed:

Dead Space - 10/10
Dead Space 2 - 9.5/10
Dead Space 3- 8.5/10

For those that enjoy co-op, the Pure Survival and Hardcore modes support it. Classic mode does not.

PersonalIy, I was hoping hardcore mode would be playable in co-op. :D

I'm only up to chapter 5, but does anyone else feel like dismemberment is downplayed a bit? It seems like the necromorphs rush me so quickly that I'm forced to use a shotgun all the time. I only focus on dismembering the crawly tentacle things in zero g...

Yeah, it doesn't feel as effective. Or maybe my aim is way off?

The save system in this is all kinds of weakness. What is considered a "checkpoint", that the game will save you at? I assumed it would be auto save locations.

But I saved at the room right before finding
Tucker's body
and it sent me back to the end of the previous chapter, while
running away from those regenerating guys while waiting for the tram to arrive
That set me back like a full hour.
