I chose to see the Coen Bros. movie over this one (of course!), but as we were leaving, there was a huge mob of people clamoring in line to get in to see Deadpool. I couldn't believe it. Now this morning I see the box office news. Wow. This gives me genuine hope that WB will (again) imitate Marvel, and give us a JLI movie and/or a Blue Beetle/Booster Gold team-up. C'mon DC, you know you want to.

I've avoided coming into this thread since I felt like people might find something to complain about but I just want to say I saw this on Thursday and was blown away by how much they nailed Deadpool himself but by how fun and humorous the movie was as well. It was exceptional.

I am super stoked to see this tomorrow night. It's great to see that it has had such a smash at the box office. It's always a positive when a CBM breaks some records. I know that this meant a lot to Ryan Reynolds, and so it's nice to see that this love affair has paid off for him. I'll share my thoughts once I've seen it.

oh yeah, the opening credits were comical......Certainly set the tone and you knew it wasn't going to be your run of the mill film for sure..

Maybe I'm just not a big Coen Brothers fan but I think you're one of the few people that choose to see Hail Ceasar over Deadpool lol

I saw it over the weekend, the film was awesome, it was funny, dramatic, and the action was great. Can't wait for more Deadpool. I think it's safe to say that Deadpool is the new face of the X-Men at fox.

they loved how "edgy" and "inappropriate funny" it was.

I suspect some of those softer 5/10 reviews in the papers I've read are a reflection of a person who would have a good laugh throughout, but at the end of the day when returning to their professional lives couldn't score the movie in a way that represented their enjoyment in spite of their social circle's judgement. Uptights can let loose, just don't post it on their Facebook the next day kind of vibe. Then again, I'm sure the humour just plain didn't land with quite a few people. Different people, different bags. I have to see it in theatres again!

Plus I heard hail ceasar sucked :lol
It was probably a mistake to see that instead of deadpool :lol

WB? Nah :lol

A Booster/Blue Beetle movie was rumored, but I'm not sure that it was anything more than that. Their TV and DTV division has pumped out some great DC-related stuff, including Brave and the Bold, which was hilarious and intentionally cheesy. They may not let Snyder and friends dictate everything DC film-related (I hope!).

LOVED the movie. So funny and fun to watch. I thought the D box seating was useless as they really didn't do much for the movie.
Reynolds is awesome as deadpool. He owned the character and Stan Lee cameo is hilarious.
He even mentions the city i reside in which rhymes with fun. The ending credits was classic marvel in which Reynold talks about DP 2.

What are other funny violent superheroes ?

Other superhero movies that could be comedies?

Was that supposed to be a
SHIELD HELICARRIER
they were fighting on at the end?

I thought so. You could tell as it rolled over, you could see where the propellers go on the side.

I noticed that also, will there be a connect to the Avengers in DP2? I know it's X-Men Universe and from time to tome in comic they share time and space, that said there's also the Cable comment at the end credits and he is known to both worlds, hmmmmmm

On a different note for those who watched Deadpool, in the vehicle battle scene where he holds up the crayon picture and " have you seen this man" sounded like Vash the Stampede

Dredd reboot should've been the hard R cbm that earned a box office like DP.

The jokes in DP barely sustained 1 movie as it is.

Every article i've read is about how DP will now be the driving force behind every decision Fox makes on cbm.

Sure it was entertaining to a certain degree but it's definately not in the same quality category as Dredd.

Bye bye Mangold, your Wolverine ideas no longer matter. :lol
