Great choice. I guess I never pictured him as Cable since he was locked in as Thanos. But I can definitely see him in this role. He's got a dry sense of humor that should match up with Reynold's personality.

I'm a little surprised by this, 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios don't play well together and usually actors have clauses that lock them up from going off and playing other superheroes for other companies. Maybe because they're both Marvel and they're finally looking to work together? It'd be hard to imagine that Brolin isn't locked up but his deal is for 4 films.

I think it could work..He's big enough to be Cable and the age is about there to be Cable..depending on what version. Probably Josh will be good for the Jim Lee or Rob Leifield version

Pitt, Gibson, Shannon, and Brolin are A-List actors.

I'm not saying those guys would be better, but it seems the studio was looking for a big name.

Stephan Lang is already locked for the Avatar sequels and he is a series regular in Into the Badlands. He is getting plenty of work.

Don't think his schedule was ever realistic due to the delays in deadpool 2 production.

Lang confirmed they were in talks, but you're right. FOX wanted someone bigger in celebrity, which I disagree with heavily.

I too would have liked to have seen Lang get the role. I think he would have played the role very well.

Josh Brolin as Cable will be interesting. I am okay with his casting. He will do the role justice, I am sure.
