So from the deleted tweets from an anonymous source from the alleged top secret screening last weekend

The main complaint was that the Vanessa character is "wasted" and that it makes an "Alien 3" level mistake. So that sounds like they'll kill off Deadpool's girlfriend in the first five minutes of the movie. I can see why people wouldn't like this. When a sequel kills the characters we rooted for in a film we enjoyed, it instantly invalidates that movie. Alien 3 is a perfect example. The first Bourne sequel did that too.

Why would they feel the need to do that from a storytelling perspective? Wade's gf was his entire motivation in the first movie. Did they wanna make room for Domino as the love interest? Did Reynolds just want the focus to be on him and him alone? No idea. It's only rumors at this point. Personally I don't really care what they do cause I didn't really care for the first movie, but apparently the love story angle was a big part of why it was so popular.

Alien 3, Bourne Supremacy... what the?
Those are good movies and good sequels.
I don't get it.

Depends.
My friends dragged me to see DREDD despite how much I didn't care for trailers.
I loved every second of the movie and it was the best 3D-viewing experience I ever had.

On the other hand, I was very excited for Deadpool and we found an undubbed screening (which is always more expensive).
I was very dissapointed by the movie overall, even tho I had good time watchin' it.

:dunno

mad max fury road.
thought it was garbage from the get go...
****in loved it after seeing it with friends in the end.:lol

Pretty sure there's already several threads about what a dreadful disaster Alien 3 was, in any of the edits.

Bourne Supremacy sucked cause they shot his girlfriend in the head in the first five minutes of the movie. The girl that helped him rediscover his humanity. They rode off happily into the sunset at the end of the first one. Then the movie made a profit so the easiest thing to do was murder the poor girl. I lost any interest in the story right there. Haven't bothered with any other Bourne movies.

Same with Alien 3. Ripley risks everything to save that little girl. They escape death several times over. And the little girl still ends up dying a violent death. It was all for nothing.

Don't know how old you are, but I watched the original Ewoks TV-movie when it aired. It was awesome. I was 5 or 6 at the time. Maybe a year later there was a sequel. In the first 3 minutes the entire family that the little girl spent the whole first movie rescuing is slaughtered. I kept waiting for them to turn up later in the movie, but they never did. I was 6 years old...that was devastating. I never rewatched either Ewok movie after that. I could never enjoy the first one again knowing that the little girl's brother and mom and dad would be killed five minutes after the happy ending.

Sorry, I forgot you hated BR49 for the same immature reasons. Some people wanna live in a fantasy world where their favorite non-superhero characters just live the dream, get old and die with a gentle smile.

What you call my "immature dream world" is just wanting to allow the original film's ending to stand as it was intended before being retconned/gutted by unnecessary sequels.

That film is like 25 years old... are you new to how Hollywood works? Regardless of what it did to Newt and Hicks, it doesn't change the fact it's the last good Alien film.

Wow the negative reactions are surprising , this is the type of movie where any reaction would seemingly be positive unless it's really really bad. considering the first was pretty much garbage , I'm almost glad.

I'll believe it when I see it. The "Alien3-Bourne-sequel" comments only made me more interested.

He might have done this to make domino a love interest. Watch....just watch, hesgonna fall over heels for her. Mark my words bro

How many people do you know that die violent deaths? If " real life" for you involves loved ones constantly dying and nothing ever working out, then that sounds really sad.

It's a pretty sophomoric attitude to associate "mature writing" with "constant series of tragedies".

Don't give me that passive-aggressive crap, please. :lol Life isn't fair and it's mostly random. You get in bed as the happiest man in the world but may wake up hearing your loved ones bein' tortured, or because of a natural disaster, or because politicians decided to start a war... or don't wake up at all due to a small air bubble that got to your heart in sleep. And that doesn't covers 1% of the chaos that is life.

I dont' have anything against happy endings and such. People do need fairytales and escapism. Doesn't mean a sequel to your beloved "fairytale" (both ALIENS and Bourne aren't kids movies at all, by the way) that got released 5 years later is bad just because its creators decided to write a less silly story with characters goin' through a more grounded and mature experience.
