Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

Now now. Let's not pretend fant 4 stic and apocalypse are cinematic pieces of gold. However I do hope that the xmen get there respect.

Only reason FoX-Men films don't get the respect they deserve is because of the man-babies that care more about what these characters are wearing than the actual stories being told.

Sure not every FoX-Men film has been great, but they've put out a solid amount of quality films and have taken quite a few risks.

Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

Since first class, only one film has been considered "bad". Before FC, they were batting .500. So I think the series has gotten much better over time.

And I don't even hate Apocalypse. That intro in ancient Egypt alone and with the Weapon X scene had me pumped.

Still will defend civil war any chance I get though. That film was satisfying to me in so many ways and better than the comic which became a messy chore after a while.

Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

XMA suffered primarily from its low budget. The movie Singer, Kinberg, Dougherty & Harris wanted to make demanded an Avengers-level budget that the studio didn't wanna give them.

The movie that we ultimately got is a reduced version of their original screenplay to work within the confines of the money they were given.

I still think Singer should have shelved the script until FOX was ready to pay for 2 1/2 hours of 8-ft tall CGI Apocalypse. Boone's New Mutants should have been the X-Men movie we got last year.

Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

If Kinberg writes and directs the next X-Men movie, the entire franchise might end up getting rebooted. If Fox was smart, they'd get someone else on that project.

Lol your hate boner for Kinberg is misplaced. You love DOFP and he's responsible for 80% of that script. The scenes on the jet between Charles and Erik were all his. He also wrote my favorite scene in the whole movie, which was Xavier's communion with his future self. I cry every time Stewart tells McAvoy that having to face the pain of others is the greatest gift he was ever bestowed.

Kinberg's a great writer. Had the original draft of XMA made it to film it would have been a much better movie.

Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

So people are thinking that

The firefly posters we see (I didn't catch them) in the trailer are an Easter egg and that we could be looking at Nathan Fillion as Cable. Not the most conventional choice but maybe he could do it? I know Reynolds and Him go back and long ways to win guys, a girl, and a pizza place so I think they're buddies in real life too.

What? Last stand was considered bad.

How is that script 80% his when there Was I believe two other writers from X2 that came on board to help with script, along with Singer and that was them tweaking Mathew Vaughn and Jane Goldman's script that they had already written before Singer came on board.

Vaughn even said that DOFP was about 90% of the movie he was making, Singer added Quicksilver for the Magneto break out scene.

Don't be a Fox sheep Snikt, it's a bad look.

Let's look at his resume :

X-Men Apocalypse

Fantastic 4

X-Men Days of Future Past

This Means War

Sherlock Holmes

Jumper

Mr and Mrs Smith

X-Men The Last Stand

XXX State of the Union

You can maybe argue there's two good movies on his resume, I personally think the only good movie here is DOFP and like I said before, there were tons of writers on the movie before he got his hands on it.

Wanting Kinberg to write and direct the next X-Men movie is like wanting David Goyer to direct/write the next Batman movie, and Goyer brought a lot good ideas with TDK trilogy but these writers need a good filmmaker to work with. This next X-Men movie could turn out as bad as Blade 3 if Kinberg gets his hands on it.

Even if you want to give him most of the credit for the DOFP script which is crazy, he's still 1/4 with superhero movies, and the next X-Men movie is rumored to be dealing with the Phoenix saga again, and this is the man that ruined that the first time :lol

Meh, it did nothing for me and made no sense at all.

yeah, it was too gimmicky. i know everyone is losing their mind laughing at this

but to me it felt like a mediocre MAD TV or Saturday night live sketch. the music felt kinda dumb.

Re: Deadpool Sequel - TBD

People who didn't like the prologue/teaser depress me. The fact that FOX bought WB's Reeves Superman theme song for an R-rated trailer to an R-rated CBM alone is a huge ****ing win.

At my 15/70 IMAX theater Thursday night it was a massive success and there wasn't a person in the audience who wasn't hysterically laughing.

well thats the people that keep the Big Bang Theory show on the air. :dunno (or watch stuff like disaster movie and meet the Spartans?)

the whole phone booth thing is so played out, even Seinfeld had jokes about it... 20 years ago..... the music was amusing in the fact that they were able to use it but it feels like they were trying too hard with the meta humor.

the only part i did like was when deadpool sits on the dead guy

I thought it was ok. Maybe a bit mean spirited, but...whatever.

It was a bit odd to see it play just before Logan, because it's so different in style.

Stan Lee wasn't in it when I saw it yesterday.
