Phoenix Suns Center Shaquille O'Neal was traded from the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns last month, but the Orlando Magic — where he started his high-profile career — never seem far from his thoughts. Wednesday was no exception.

O'Neal said after a morning practice that he hopes to take over management of the Orlando Magic when he retires as a player following the 2009-10 season. He also expects to bring Grant Hill — former Magic player and current teammate with the Suns — along to help him.

"Grant will be the team president — he's a bright guy — and I'll be the general manager," O'Neal said. "I'm serious. They need me down there with the new arena coming. Grant and I are coming to do the job."

Well that means two more regular seasons for Oneal and I have to believe that last one is going to me sheer misery to watch. I cannot imagine what two more years and 150 more games will do to his body and abilities. I guess watching Babe Ruth trot to first in his last year and bow out to a pinch runner was tough also. So glad that many great ones like Bird left when they were on top.

If Oneal thinks he has a career in management he is kidding himself. Thats a bad joke without a punchline.

There are two main kinds of NBA stories on With Leather: Isiah Thomas sucking, and Dikembe Mutombo being awesome. And today those two worlds have collided.

Mutombo, who announced during the preseason that his seventeenth year in the league would be his last, has kept the Rockets' frontcourt intact after Yao Ming injuries the last two seasons. Now, with the Rockets and NBA scheduled to honor his career and humanitarianism during halftime of tonight's game against the Timberwolves, Mutombo's rethinking his pledge to retire. Why? Isiah Thomas.

After one season with New York in 2003-04, Mutombo was told by then-general manager and now head coach of the Knicks Isiah Thomas that the day had come, and that blunt message has driven him for the past four years.

"It's still a wound," Mutombo said. "My wife and I still talk about it. It's still a bit sad to see the commissioner coming and all those people coming to celebrate the 17 years of my career and accomplishments and you look back and say that about (four) years ago, I had a guy tell me that I couldn't play basketball no more, to go to the beach and onto vacation. That's the same guy who's losing his job tomorrow."

I stole that joke from Dave Chappelle. His version was about O.J. Simpson and how white people were appalled that he shook hands with him once.
White people: "How could you shake hands with that murderer?"
Chappelle: "That murderer rushed for 2000 yards in one season."

The Suns won, as expected:chew

The Lakers lost:rock at home:rock again:rock to the grizzlies:lol

Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 in Hershey, PA.
And Wilt had sex with 20,000 women.
As far as we know, none were rapes.
