I find it interesting that their Exclusives are starting to double up (COH with a print) instead of just one or the other. That coupled with this new policy sends an interesting message. "We are going to make it more attractive to go through Sideshow Direct BUT it'll cost you if you change your mind..."

Some people are addicted to ordering stuff...they get a chubby....then of course cancel.

This is a nice F you to those folks.

Than you SS.

Im not diggin this policy...I understand their trying to reduce flippers and allow more people who actually want the item...But money always changes from month to month...Especially when your talking 6+ months from order to release (typically)...and to lose $20-30+ sucks....

Prior to this years comic con, I had 6 premium formats, 4 12" figures and a few other items come roughly at the same time...So I had to cancel 3 PF and 1 comiquette...Not that I wanted to, but I wanted to go to con...So with this policy I would have to burn $90-$120 to breath...Which I think is BS. That's pretty _____ty SS...

If they are going to go back to setting edition sizes before the pre-orders happen, why not just make the darn thing first and sell it as an in-stock item? At that point there's no need for for deposits or cancelled orders.

LOVE THE POLICY!!

If you can't afford it, dont pre-order it. NICE!

That will never happen. Too much of a risk to have left over stock. SS has weathered the times because of what they have been doing. No need to change.

You can always return if it does not live up to expectations.

Yes, but they won't refund shipping which can be expensive in and of itself. Especially when you consider you're basically paying for UPS/FedEx to ship it twice. Once to you, and then back to them.

I'm guessing that you won't get refunded for shipping and you'd also have to pay to have it shipped back. That be like $60-70 for overseas customers. I don't like this new policy but I can live with it. Just have to be more selective about what to order.

YES, Once it is delivered to you, if you dont like it and return it, you get all of your money back minus shipping to and from Sideshow. It better be kick ass or mine is going back. I can damn near buy another girlfriend for 1200.00. just kidding.

That's the major flaw with this. Basically, if the sweatshop ____s up the paint apps, and you don't like it because it looks nothing like the prototype, you're still ____ed for shipping. If Sideshow plans on doing this, they better vamp up their QC to ensure the product leaving China looks like the product in the pic they used to sell it. Otherwise, refund all charges to unsatisfied customers, including shipping.

I agree with Nam. I hope this backfires on them big time.

I wonder if there will at least be a check box where you have to agree to the non-refundable deposit.

Good first step in stamping out flippers and cancellers resulting in bloated ES, especially if they still have a return policy.

Now they need to add more information about the piece earlier like scale/size and match the painting more to the proto.

You're asking for the impossible.

I don't think this new policy will have any effect on the quality of the final product. That's been a crap shoot with SS rolling snake eyes more and more lately.

This won't be too big of a deal if like Fuzzy says they detail the size and scale of what your are pre-ordering is, and they do something about providing more hi-res and better photos of their statues. Their current galleries are too small, are taken from too far away and suck hard especially compared to some of the photos on the board.
