Ok a little bit overboard here why do this charge 20-25% cancellation fee if you cancel your order 20-30 day's before Billing or shipping date!!! anyway you get a first notice from Sideshow when will be the item arriving into warehouse right.:lecture

If they didn't do this, soon you'll see everything on 2nd chance due to flip flop and obsessive cancelholics, nothing will hold value in the secondary market and K-mart, Walmart and Target will start carrying Sideshow exclusives. You were already seeing secondary market fallout in some of the more recent high ES statues (especially with Print Exclusives). The EX ES numbers were going crazy. It was becoming 'Not-So-Limited' Non-Exclusives. One of the reasons people are paying a premium for mass produced statues is the limited numbers.

Sideshow Collectibles coming soon to a Big Lots near you. :lecture

Interesting change. I'm not a huge fan of it on items already like the Vader 1:1 bust but could understand it somewhat on an item that expensive.

Now, is this gonna happen on all pieces across the board I wonder? If it lowers the ES a bit and helps make things better across the board I'm ok with it.

I am a fan of it! Its about time!

This way the serious collector of the item will step forward and all those on the fence have to think twice since the down payment due at the time of reservation.

Poor flippers. :(

They will miss out on..... BEAST!

Somewhere there is a flipper going... FUBEAST! in his native tongue.

Then again it's a 14" statue of a blue hairy dude reading, so I don't thnk they care so much.

Being notoriously indecisive by nature, of course I hate this new policy. But if SS ante their QC, hire capable artists, proper pricing(like that's ever gonna happen!) and lower the ES to make it more appealing, then I don't have a problem with it, serious collector or not...

Damn flippers! Hate those jokers who interfere with the interest of serious collectors!

Flippers are not really going to suffer...What flippers want are cool exclusive pieces and low edition sizes...those are the things that sell...If you go on EBAY right now, recent Sideshow products with Exclusives are not really selling well...

What Sideshow has done is to force us to buy now...The Beast Exclusive has an ES of 200, now do I really want this piece? Sure, I like Beast as much as the next guy. Also, Beast will probably come out 2Q or 3Q (just in time for SDCC)...But now do I want to risk that gamble of $28 for him?..What if Cyclops PF, Stormtrooper PF, etc. become available for pre-order shortly after Beast, NOW money becomes a factor, because these will all get released around the same time...Now why should I be punished for this if I can't swing for them all? Yeah, I know there are some ballers here that can buy everything, but Im a regular joe that can get the majority of what I want, but not everything...So IMO, Sideshow is punishing us for this...I feel that Sideshow should charge a cancellation fee, however, 30-45 days before release...So we can have the time to see what we can keep and what we can afford.

They will if they choose the wrong product to back and can't sell it. They can just order and cancel multiple exclusives using mass accounts without any repercussions which is worse. I saw this dude selling 4 white elektras b4 it shipped while collectors were upset that they didn't get one. It was the multiple orders that were bloating the ES. Heck I see flippers with 5-10 exclusives for sale on E-bay.

They really aren't forcing anything, if you like it buy it, if it didn't meet your standards, return it.

If you don't like the final product they have a great return policy.

They are probably starting to look into this because the massive cancellations are really piling up the stock in their warehouse.

You're right about the release dates tho, they will have to ship stuff at the right time, but if you're on that tight of a budget, probably not a good idea to order too much stuff anyways. I guess I have a different perspective as I already have the money set aside when I order something.

Anyways, lots of companies have had this policy for ages, and they seem fine.

Difference is, it will lower the ES, and cause less cancellations.

This policy will really make you think twice before ordering a certain piece instead of ordering sometimes on impulse. I have ordered on impulse before and have cancelled later on, because of better stuff coming out and the older stuff doesn't interest me anymore. I can't really say if this is a good thing or bad thing, but it is not going to stop me from ordering from Sideshow again.

This is crap. Ill list why:

1) If you order 3 statues that are supposed to be released within a 5 month span. They release all of the in the 5th month due to delays. From what I have seen on here some people cant afford to get all 3. Hot Toy War Machine has been delayed 1000 times already.

2) It sucks when people cancel and leave more on the table but it sucks that SS quality control is drunk half the time.

3) It sucks when SS goes from a ES of 100 to 150 and requires $$$ prior to this news being released.

4) A flipper will still buy it regardless. Beast....... Not a huge fan base but at a es of 200 with a actual ex and not just a lame print... A flipper will get 1 or 2 vs 4.

You cant stop a flipper you can only hope to contain them!! Everyone suffers and SS makes a bigger profit.

stupid move Sideshow. Part of what made you stand out from the rest was the "worry free" ordering process. You just shot yourself in the foot if you will make all of your exclusives require a deposit. Was nice to have you around but Im afraid you will fade away if you keep this up.
