I think it would make perfect sense for Doakes to appear as one of Dex's ghosts. LaGuerta will reopen the BHB case to try and clear Doakes' name.

I also wouldn't mind LaGuerta dying this season, she was a downright pain the arse last year.

You're being to generous! She was a total career-climbing double-timing beyotch. The writers already killed off her integrity, so an actual death wouldn't make as much of an impact.

But if Dexter has to go down, it might as well be over the one guy who had his number from the start. Doakes' exit was premature and having the killings pinned on him was tolerable only as long as Dexter was doing his best to adhere to his code. Now that Dex has broken that deliberately (although impulsively) a few times over, the posthumous framing of Doakes seems all the more senseless.

I have little sympathy for a sloppy killer!

LaGuerta has done pretty well at making sure she has no friends in the department. Shes snaky enough to run for a public office.

went against all her training as a cop and allowed Dexter to pull some fairly blatant social engineering on her. She had enough information right in front of her she should have called it in. Of course no one wants to get caught up in a trial, but it might have kept Deb from allowing herself to become an accomplice.

Dexter an pull off alot of things, but what he magically did with

Deb was the easy way out.

Now, past that it got increasingly better, but I don't buy

Deb's delayed understanding of everything she should have instantly recognized from the beginning of the episode. Predictably, they took great liberty with how gullible she could really be. The only thing that allows her some sort of moral high ground now is her stupidity which I will not grant her.

It was a decent ending because it kept the tension going,

but they ruined Deb for me.
