I'm glad it didn't take Deb all freaking season to figure it out. I'm glad it only took a single episode, although it does seem weird to the audience, but in real life, the shock of a "relative" doing something so out of place like that would probably make you want to believe them at first too. But I think it showed how good of a dective Deb is to have gone from that to knowing the truth in one episode/day.

In the books she's known the truth since the end of the first book (aka season 1) so I've felt its about time that happened on the show. Last year at SDCC they basically said thanks for the idea, but beyond the first book, we haven't even read them or care to, so even knowing how Book Deb reacted doesn't mean Show Deb will be the same.

And am I the only one that think Dexter taking on the Punisher might be kinda cool?

Misc opener thoughts:

I'm braced for disappointment, but cautiously optimistic.

I enjoyed S06E01, but HATED season 6, so the season opener isn't a great indication. But Dexter + Deb vs what looks like maybe Laguerta (trying to use the slide as proof the Butcher is still active and therefore wasn't Doakes) could be interesting.

Also that lab tech who looks like that guy from Big Bang theory could be good, if used well.

So good opener, please don't screw the rest up.

What I did find weird is how easily Dexter got the guy

Last season, Hanks Jr. actually opened the box that Dex hadn't gotten around to looking at. It's a very real possibility that

Deb found it before he actually came across it. That was cool, but I don't think she needed any more confirmation outside the slides or the cellophane for that matter.

well Think about it

you have Dexter in a middle of a crowded airport where security is tight and there are cameras recording and everything, you have an open bathroom where someone could have walked in on Dexter drugging the guy, then you have Dexter killing a guy in a same manner, in a room where someone that works there Just happened to be in, what if the guy came back, the one that closed that door of the room Dexter used. really sloppy kill if you ask me

Today's kill was really weird, no ritual, no safety for Dexter, no pictures of his victims,
I understand he was under pressure from Deb finding out but Dexter Always prepared the ritual, at least the pics of the victim,
he didn't even cut the body up, I don't know... this doesn't feel right, kinda feels like a copycat Dexter took over the real Dexter in that one moment

Do we really need spoilers now? WTF? Why would anyone come here to talk if they have not seen the episode this is going to get annoying....

Another thing I didn't like was the guy getting shot, so the only person with a reason to think he didn't commit suicide because of the car just happens to drive in the same street where the russian guy had problems with his car? and the trunk just happened to be OPEN? WTF? you would think that guy would be more careful with a body in there. that whole scene was too convenient
