for some reason that beginning Tease with Dexter escaping really reminded me of Breaking Bad, since their episodes tend to start that way, I don't know why but it reminded me of that show

Apart from the end it was another badly written episode full of idiotic motivations and convenient occurrences. The airport scene. Really? That was so dumb. I think they upped the ante in terms of how eventful this season might be but the writing is still awful IMO.

I loved it.

The preview at the end has me looking forward to more!

Agreed the airport kill was silly, I think the show has gotten kinda "quirky" like that but it wasn't enough to ruin the first episode experience for me.

I did wonder if he could get his ticket money back though, lol

Kramer: Look, I got Super Savers! C'mon.

George: Super Savers? Are they refundable!?

George: You bought non-refundable tickets, you idiot!

Kramer: She talked me in to it-- she said it was the best deal.

I never understood why people don't like Harry appearing to talk to Dexter
that is one of my favorite parts of the show, when Dexter talks to Harry, I love that, I always have,

it is still one of my favorite things about the show, and Harry is one of my favorite characters, I like him more than Lagerta or Patista or even Deb.
I really loved Harry being there for dexter, and, he doesn't even appear for dexter the first 3 seasons, Dexter does not talk to Harry first or second season even,

so I still don't see the big deal, Dexter talking to Harry is much better than Dexter talking to himself

Both of those are forced, and aren't needed as much as the writer thinks.

(Dex talking to his dad's picture in season 3)

"What to get you for your birthday."

"Uh durr I dunno wut would a ghost want from Dextarrrrr? Hurr durrr:

"How bout...Freeeboo"

"OH MAH DURR, I COULD NOT HAVE MADE THAT CONNECTION."

I like the insight, but when it's insight. Not the obvious.

Harry is a massive hit, or a massive miss. Character is fine. But the writing got worse as we went on.

The show looks to be back in form for me. What an intense premier. Things is only going to go really downhill for Dexter from now on.

Not sure what the fuss about the gas pump declining the credit card all about. Over this part of the world, you get either 'declined' or 'do not honour' if your credit card do not have enough credit or you didn't pay your bills.

As for the airport kill it is ok for me. One tiny fact (one of my customer is the head of security for a major corporation), malls, airports, government buildings, they are not as highly monitored as movies lead you to believe. Basically, the bigger the building, the more impossible it is to monitor every single corner. Imagine the amount of manpower needed!!!!

Hence in most buildings, cameras are only placed at key areas, namely the parking lot, lift area, corridors, main lobby, etc, basically areas that people come in and out. It makes more sense since whoever wants to commit a crime in the building will have to come in one of these exit/entrance anyway unless of course the thief can teleport or fly.

Most cameras don't even work and are for show. It's a psychological thing, if you think you are being monitored, you will have a less likely chance of committing a crime.

So while the kill at the airport is highly risky, with Dexter working with the police, it is possible that he knows where all the blind spot are.

As for the luggage section, the door did say no entry after like what? 4pm or something so when Dexter did the deed, it must have been after hours for that section. Even if he look the door of something no one will have reason to suspect anything since it's closed.

I think a lot of people misunderstood Debra for being stupid cause she took so long to figure things out but I look at it being her knowing deep down inside but she is just in denial. Not to mention Dexter kept on using their relationship and Harrison to get her of his back.

But I am glad the cop instinct in Debra prevailed and she pieced everything together. What a perfect ending to a very exciting premier. I can't wait to see how their relationship will be tested this season.

Well either way, Dexter IS just talking to himself. :wave

I see what you're saying though.

is not the same, because Harry answers, we see Harry, so to us the audience he is real, even thought he is just in his head,
I love seeing Harry, and I love seeing them talk, I like him

Uh.. ok now you lost me.

Harry is just a personification of Dexter's inner thoughts. When you see them conversing that's simply Dexter talking to himself. That's how I've always looked at it. So for me it doesn't matter if he's talking to Harry, his brother or himself out loud/ with a voice over; he's still just talking to himself. So no connection there for me.

^^^ True

What bugs me is that up until season 4 , Whenever Harry is in a scene they would do that lighting and blur him a bit .

Now , he's in HD just like Dex :slap

yeah I know.
what I mean is that I like seeing the actual actor in the show playing the father talking to him, I know is Dexter's mind, I know is Dexter talking to himself, but I like seeing Harry Himself, because when Dexter talks to "Harry" he reacts differently than when he is just talking to himself,

his reactions and his emotions with the personification of Harry are different, Dexter shows emotions like Anger when talking to "Harry"
I like that, I like the back and forth between the two actors,

so I see people saying they hate "Harry" being on the show, but to me that is one of the best things about the show, seeing Dexter talking to Harry even though he is just talking to himself, because you have to actors talking to each other,

I can't believe this wound up being an even minor discussion point. I was joking about it being instantly declined, since when you buy anything with a credit card, it has to process, whether you have the credit or not.
