Not only that, but the very fact that he is allowing himself to be seen talking directly with Isaak is incredibly sloppy and ensures that there will now always be a traceable link if he mysteriously vanishes as all big bads tend to do.

Yes, at the end of an episode where Deb hides evidence connecting Dex to the Wedding Photographer he visits a suspected fellon in prison. He would need to sign a log book, present his ID, perhaps be fingerprinted, pass through numerous securty checkpoints, speak to various gaurds, all the while appearing on video. Finally he monologues with Isaac on a phone line that is certainly monitored.

Even though this season is tighter than the previous two so far, some horribad writing decisions will continue to follow the series to its grave. If you were to tell me two seasons ago that A, Deb would develop sexual feelings for Dex and that B, she would override all her instincts as a cop to allow Dexter to mind**** her (didn't take much) into being an accomplice to murder, I would've have thought there was another Writer's Guild strike or something. All things considered, they're doing a good job of keeping things interesting. The best I can hope for is they kind of forget she was jonesing for him. That stupid motel scene isn't helping!

I think alot of this storyline was to wash the sexual attraction road they were going down out of peoples minds, but its not like this is the first season Deb has let a murderer go because she thought they were doing the right thing. Not exactly a huge stretch.

At least with the conversation with Isaak, we could assume that Dexter had the "recording" issue fixed in advance. I'm sure law enforcement wouldn't be so strick on other law enforcement, it's believable. Alot like when they turn the camera off in the interrogation room.

As for Debra wanting to bang Dexter, they do seem to be playing it down quite a bit this season or "taking it slower" but didn't the writers say at comic con that they are still gonna bring the viewers along for the ride on that?

I figured they would've had her going back to see her therapist this season.

this, like many other things (like Miguel Prado's death or Dexter finding the perfect nanny) will probably be completely ignored and erased from the story from now on. I am sure of it.

Yeah, but there are limits how far I thought Deb ought to be stretched. With Dex and Travis, she should have had an immediate visceral reaction seeing all the same elements of how she herself was abducted. The way she was brought up by her father was completely different from the way he handled his son, so sympathy for the devil need not apply. Up until she cowed to Dexter's will, she was a very strong counterpoint to his entire existence. Season 5 was about as catatonic as Dexter was when it began, and used Deb's almost catch as a way to shake things up again. Even though it was a huge compromise for her as a cop, we were left with something that resembled a personal code.

This season, she didn't just crumble under Dexter's bull****, she went to get gasoline to burn the place down! The show has other pillars to rely on, but Deb has been toppled.

It's kind of a staple of the show to watch Dexter do all the prepwork before he makes his move. If that was the case here, it was a missed opportunity.

Nah, its creeping back in as her shock wears off. Haven't we learned anything from Clarice Starling? :slap :gah:

SIDEBOOB VICTORY.

Totally looks like they are setting Laguerta up to be the one who ultimately foils Dexter. He totally underestimates her.

Also, Jordan Chase was brought up last night!

I guess the visitation rooms aren't being monitored, Isaak was carrying on conversation like it wasn't.

I think Laguerta is redshirting herself.

It would be very interesting if Deb is the one that suggests taking Laguerta out, That could happen, specially since they were hinting next episode she wants Dexter to kill this other blonde girl.

I thought it was interesting that Dexter says he can handle Laguerta yet if it weren't for her he would have already been caught from that photograph at the wedding.

Yeah I hate how Dexter keeps ignoring Deb's fears about Laguerta
he keeps saying he will handle Laguerta yet so far he has done nothing at all to stop her investigation, not even throw clues for her, seriously, Dexter has done nothing at all to throw Laguerta off, nothing.
Yet everytime Deb brings it up he always says "I'll handle it" :slap
