Is it me or was Dexter pretty good at kicking *** and protecting himself in previous seasons? Seems like he cant punch his way out of a paperbag these days.
Besides that, I have to agree with the other people here...Totally underwelming season so far. After watching Breaking Bad last night then switching over to Dexter...I stopped the dvr.

Yeah I agree with everyone this show used to be great, with the acting and writing. Now it's just a mess of a show will watch to see how the series ends that's it.

it really is like watching a slow death. just waiting for the final breath so we can all move on...

Its no coincidence that the best seasons of this show were the ones in which every character had a part to play in the main story arc.

Now the show has just devolved into a random collection of stories from the lives of police station employees and their love interests. Plotlines go on for episodes before disappearing suddenly, and hang around just for the hell of it. Quinn in particular has served no purpose for about 3 years now.

I was hoping that setting a definitive end point would focus the writers into developing one last tightly woven plot in which each episode built towards a larger story in which every character was involved. Instead, it made the writers realize that they only had one more year to get away with as many shenanigans as possible. 7 episodes in and the closest we have to a main storyline is the third retread of "Dexter takes on a sidekick but it all goes badly."

well I really don't think he's ever had to fight three body guards before, he was always good at defending himself or kicking *** against others, but I maybe mistaken, usually it was always one on one. :dunno

It has been difficult for me to watch this show for several seasons now. A great show ends before its time. The Wire left me wanting more... I have a feeling Breaking Bad will leave me wanting more. Dexter over stayed it's welcome by at least 3 seasons. The ONLY reason I watch it is because I feel like I need to finish it since I am so close to being done.

This is on episode 7 do the producers even know this is the final season nothing is happening.

:exactly::goodpost: This show has gotten so lame lately, the last episode was pretty bad, i actually enjoyed the one where he killed the brain surgeon guy. Its almost like Melrose place with these characters and their love interest, no one cares about who is sleeping with who. Also they made some of the best characters like Bautista and Masuko just annoying to watch. What was the derailed Hannah storyline all about, everything felt very rushed. Another thing that really bothered me is the that Dexter was doing the blood work for the neighbor? In real life because the fact that they went out and he happens to be her neighbor, he would be be a possible suspect or at least questioned about it.

That stuck out to me too. Honestly it would have been better if she started to think Dexter was gay and not be killed (presumably by Zach). At least it would have been good for some comic relief.

Overall, my impressions were that this season was working out better than the previous ones, especially considering we know this is the end. After Deb tried to kill Dexter then turned around to save him I started to feel the season lose traction.

So far, Jacob is pretty lame. On top of that what the hell happened to the man's skin? Ol' leatherface trying to get it on with broody incest girl is distractingly awkward everytime. The Hannah arc is already wearing out its welcome, but if she makes it to a final blood soaked orgy of serial killing it could be tolerable. Everyone needs to die! :lol

I think this show would have been better if they flash forwarded more to where Harrison is older and he started showing signs of being a little more homicidal and Dexter having to mentor him, but this show should have just ended with Debra killing Dexter last season.

If Deb was gonna shoot him, it should have been at the start of season 7. I never bought that she would go get the gasoline to burn the church down. Worst mistake of the series for me.

Only 5 more episodes of this doo doo. These past few seasons are really undoing what the first four seasons did for its viewers. This TV series is going to be easily forgotten once its done.

This season is not a great final season. But at least it is not Really horrible....

Like, Bringing Harry back and saying he was alive all along horrible... (Which I heard they even thought about doing)

Yeah but, this is the last season. Had this have been just another season, I would be feel that way...but this is the final stretch. It's horrible. Mind numbingly bad in almost every way. What are they doing?

You ever see any soaps?
Pretty much what Dexter reminds me of anymore. Just a splinter of multiple stories going on just to keep running down the clock. :lol

*cracks knuckles*
