im gonna miss him after Dex finally plunges that knife in his heart........:monkey2

Boy, you're gonna have egg on your face when Trinity ends up killing Dexter :p

How's that for a twist?!?!?

So, I'm guessing the ritual with the boy is reference to Arthur losing his innocence at that age? What's the purpose of burying them in cement? Like building the foundation of who he is?

Just trying to work this all out. The ritual for the father and mother seem to make sense already, but there's gotta be more to the ritual for the sister.

I think it has to do with preserving the body. Arthur asked the boy to promise to stay that way forever, and when Dexter realized how Trinity was hiding the bodies he remarked "perfectly preserved".

As far as the ritual for the sister goes, that's why I was thinking there was some sort of incestual relationship going on with him and Vera. Jumping off a building and bludgeoning someone is very violent, but Arthur kills the girl in the tub in tight embrace and it doesn't fit with the other modes of kill. It's strongly implied that Arthur beat his father to death, and that's the same thing he did to the guy in the office building, and he didn't push the lady off the building, he coerced her to jump. It HAS to be the same way his family died originally. If his sister really slipped and a piece of glass punctured her artery, Trinity would probably just slice his victim's leg. The fact that he carries around her ashes, he locks his daughter in her room with all the pink stuff in there, it really sounds like he was in love with Vera. A 10 year old boy doesn't stand and watch his sister in the shower, innocent or not, that's just creepy. I will bet 10 Coca-Colas that Arthur had the hots for Vera and he killed her when she told him 'no'.

I also think there seems to be something going on with Arthur's youngest daughter. She was offering herself to Dexter, then Arthur's wife turns up and rather than be angry at Dexter she begs him not to say anything. I wonder if he is up to no good with his daughter? The thought that he might be, makes me feel sick, so I hope this is wrong

I think that the mother and father deaths are pretty straight forward. The mother jumped from a building as a suicide because of either Vera's death or what her kids had been up to. And Arthur bludgeoned his father to death. I don't think there is much ambiguity on those two, but I think there's a lot more about Vera's death and her relationship with Arthur. The young daughter of Arthur's is very creepy - and hopefully we'll learn more about that.

Whoa.

Super whoa. Anyone have a time machine so we can jump straight to next week's episode? Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Amazing episode.

I am making sure that I will not see any previews of the final episode. Last week's preview gave a bit too much away.
This is still on course for the best season yet.

This was indeed awesome and i'm also staying away from everything Dexter until the last episode is over.

Awesome episode! Dexter looked like a scared 6 year old boy when Arthur walked into the doorway of Homocide.

Things still seem to be building towards epic disaster for Maria & Batista :emperor

i agree with the previews giving a bit too much away. pretty much what you saw with deb & someone pulling a gun fell right into place with what happened so no surprize there. the next week previews are like a car wreck..........you dont want to look but something inside makes you....(well for me anyway...). and as DC says......next week looks to be EPIC baby !!!!!!!!!!!!........:rock:rock:rock

btw..........the "Hello Dexter Morgan" part was chilling..........:horror
John Lithgow is effin' creepy...:lol

That was a great episode. The only thing is, don't you think it's strange that Dexter didn't notice a dark grey panel van tailing him in the middle of the day. If I remember correctly didn't he spot Doakes from a mile away at night? I'm just saying Dexter is to skilled to be found so easily.

I suppose it's because he was distracted with his whole identity crisis and trying to focus entirely on being "Dexter family man and spatter analyst" when driving to see Deb at the station. :huh

Yeah i'll go with this as well.

One of the themes this season was Dexter's identity crisis and how he's been making mistakes because he's trying to shuffle his day job, his Dark Passenger and his family. The scene in Arthur's house, with four different reflections of him, all being aspects of his personality was the big metaphor for this season.

Dexter had no reason to think Trinity was following him, he figured Trinity would be trying to gather up some money. With Doakes, Dexter had known Doakes had been following him for months.

That was my favorite part of the entire episode. Just that 10-15 seconds with him looking at 4 different versions of himself wondering who he really is. REALLY well done scene
