So, I'm guessing the ritual with the boy is reference to Arthur losing his innocence at that age? What's the purpose of burying them in cement? Like building the foundation of who he is?
Just trying to work this all out. The ritual for the father and mother seem to make sense already, but there's gotta be more to the ritual for the sister.
I think it has to do with preserving the body. Arthur asked the boy to promise to stay that way forever, and when Dexter realized how Trinity was hiding the bodies he remarked "perfectly preserved".
As far as the ritual for the sister goes, that's why I was thinking there was some sort of incestual relationship going on with him and Vera. Jumping off a building and bludgeoning someone is very violent, but Arthur kills the girl in the tub in tight embrace and it doesn't fit with the other modes of kill. It's strongly implied that Arthur beat his father to death, and that's the same thing he did to the guy in the office building, and he didn't push the lady off the building, he coerced her to jump. It HAS to be the same way his family died originally. If his sister really slipped and a piece of glass punctured her artery, Trinity would probably just slice his victim's leg. The fact that he carries around her ashes, he locks his daughter in her room with all the pink stuff in there, it really sounds like he was in love with Vera. A 10 year old boy doesn't stand and watch his sister in the shower, innocent or not, that's just creepy. I will bet 10 Coca-Colas that Arthur had the hots for Vera and he killed her when she told him 'no'.
OH MY GOD!
holy crap that was awesome....
Amazing episode.
I am making sure that I will not see any previews of the final episode. Last week's preview gave a bit too much away.
This is still on course for the best season yet.

This was indeed awesome and i'm also staying away from everything Dexter until the last episode is over.
btw..........the "Hello Dexter Morgan" part was chilling..........
John Lithgow is effin' creepy...
That was a great episode. The only thing is, don't you think it's strange that Dexter didn't notice a dark grey panel van tailing him in the middle of the day. If I remember correctly didn't he spot Doakes from a mile away at night? I'm just saying Dexter is to skilled to be found so easily.
I suppose it's because he was distracted with his whole identity crisis and trying to focus entirely on being "Dexter family man and spatter analyst" when driving to see Deb at the station.
One of the themes this season was Dexter's identity crisis and how he's been making mistakes because he's trying to shuffle his day job, his Dark Passenger and his family. The scene in Arthur's house, with four different reflections of him, all being aspects of his personality was the big metaphor for this season.
Dexter had no reason to think Trinity was following him, he figured Trinity would be trying to gather up some money. With Doakes, Dexter had known Doakes had been following him for months.
