I think Angel's hot sister...

...finds Dex's slides. Just a guess since Harrison somehow knows about them judging by the previews.

Uh oh....

EXCLUSIVE: Showtime’s flagship drama Dexter opened its sixth season on Sunday with a stellar 2.2 million viewers, up 24% from last year to mark the hit series’ highest-rated premiere ever and Showtime’s best original series opener in at least 14 years. But the prospects of the hit drama going to a seventh season are now uncertain as negotiations between Dexter star Michael C. Hall and Showtime have broken down. I hear that the two sides reached an impasse yesterday, the same day Dexter‘s big Season 6 premiere ratings came out. Hall’s contract for Dexter is up after the current sixth season, which is about to wrap production. He has been negotiating with Showtime for a while, but I hear talks broke down after the two sides couldn’t bridge a $4 million gap in proposed salary for a new deal, with Showtime offering $20 million for two more seasons and Hall’s team asking for $24 million. Either figure would make Hall one of the highest-paid actors in cable. Sources indicate that the network brass remain hopeful about reaching a deal, with signing Hall for one more season vs. two also an option. Hall jumped on Dexter immediately after finishing Six Feet Under and, after working on a TV series for 10 straight years, the actor had been looking to do other things, including a Broadway musical. He won a Golden Globe for his role on Dexter last year.

I hope it ends on season 7. I would hate to see Dexter go down the tubes and then get canceled.

Or even better. One more season and a Dexter movie. :yess:

Good for him! I hope he sticks to his guns. And if the show doesn't go on, at least it had a great run.

Good for him? Like $10 Million a year isn't enough? Sure a Million per episode would be nice to get as an individual, but I can't say I feel sorry for him only making $10 Million a year.

But heck, Charlie Sheen was getting like $2 Million per episode and that was for a half hour show with 20ish episodes a season. Hall is working for chump change when you look at that. :horror

I just hope if/when the show ends, they have time to give us an ending. Whether Dex continues on killing like any other day (Sopranros like ending?), or stops killing all together, or gets caught/killed. I don't want it to just end with a regular end of season episode.

^Pretend it's like what you get paid for your job...but add some zeros too it.

I think he just doesnt want to do more then a 7th season. Which I think is a good end point.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. I didn't say that. But Showtime sure as hell can afford to pay him what he wants.

Yeah, that is true at least. Dexter is their flagship. Everything at SDCC for Showtime revovles around him. Heck, all of their billboards this year had a "Faith" theme to them to reflect that on this season of Dexter. Showtime doesn't really have a good replacement #2 right now if Dexter goes bye-bye.

Watched episode one last night. Felt like it was pretty fun. Loved dancing and football dexter.

Not so sure about the dudes doing the weird religious stuff yet...but I do like what they are doing. CGI looked a bit weak though.

I was sure I was going to really hate the "faith" arc of this season - but I do love where they're going. It's time for a serial killer that's more realistic - aka - a total religious wack job and someone Dexter can't relate to in the least.

The Joe Walker kill room was pretty intense in last week’s premiere of Dexter…now you can watch the cast and crew discuss how they created it right the way down to the creation of a new knife for him. Thought the scoreboard was definitely a nice touch.

Hey Tom, another new toy for you to build...

That knife created for that scene is SICK.

Great vid, sueoworld.

OK opener. I dunno, part of me feels like Dexter has run it's course. .... Maybe it's time for a change of scenery for Dexter to keep the show fresh? Move him out of Miami.

I like the show but it has been running in place too long.

I'd like to see Dex get 'discovered' and see a final season that has no rules. Dexter the hunted. Perhaps a chase across country, I dunno. But something big and final.

I always thought this show would end with Dex in jail. An entire population of people deserving him. His last words to the audience would be "I'm free"

Knowing the MC Hall is negotiating a new contract means IF he renews the show probably goes for several more years. So a series finale is probably not coming any time soon.
