If I'm going to buy any Princesses (and I'm a big enough sucker for Disney that I just might), I would rather them have their animated faces than celebrity faces.

I see what you're saying...

Give them the Adam Hughes touch, huh :naughty

;)

You guys realise that when you buy a premium format princess, it comes with a castration kit for you to cut your own balls off and send them to Sideshow.

Seriously tho, I can get away with a 1:1 Endoskelton bust or the Gold Idol from Indiana Jones in my room because theyre creepy and manly.

If I had an 18" Disney Princess, not only would my friends make fun of me on a regular basis, and probably stop coming over, I'm 100% certain I would never get laid in that room ever again.

Thems the facts kid. Girls bust my balls over a 12" Indy "DOLL" because he has real clothing. You think you can convince a chick that an 18" barbie is cool?

Premium Princess figures will sell horribly. The little girl target audience can't afford them, Men won't buy them because they want to get laid, and who the hell would buy a big heavy premium format at the Disney park and carry it around with them all day. Try to get it on a plane ride home w/o damaging it. Sideshow better be careful what they make or this will be Jurassic Park all over again.

The funny thing is that you have no idea what you are talking about? Have you ever heard about Disneyana? Do you know about their conventions where collectors from all walks of life spend small mints on limited edition merchandise? Go to eBay and type in WDCC then sort by highest price. The funny thing is these things sell all the time with serious Disneyana collectors. The target audiences isn't little girls but midaged collectors. Men, women...crosses in between....

Master Replicas was banking on this and unfortunately due to many factors one of which was Disney holding out on letting them put these in their theme parks where people are more likely to make impulse buys because they are caught up in the "magic" and the other because collectors were unimpressed by what was put out.

The Disney Big Figs are always at the park and while they are always on the shelves ask for one that has just come out...they are gone. Huge, heavy and usually between $150-$200. You see housewives and parents alike walking around with these huge boxes. Here is the interesting thing....you can ship them home from the parks usually free of cost if the pieces are priced high enough and if not its a standard shipping charge no different than SSC would charge from their site. If SSC can keep their PFs around Universal Monsters prices they'll make a killing both online and at the theme park.

Choice and price will be the defining factors for the successes in these lines. My wife is a huge Disney fan and has a lot of the Disney Master Replicas stuff, Gentle Giant even gets the Disneyana collector mags....I guarantee you if the price is right these will fly....my wife has her fingers crossed about it.

It's too bad they haven't released any details except that they have the PF license. Hopefully we'll get a press release or a preview picture in a couple weeks.

They need to strike while the iron is hot too. None of this "announce the licence and let it sit" for months like they did with Indy.

Speaks serious truth. :lecture

This Disney license could be REALLY good for even those of us who don't collect Disney. Disney is SO big and popular, that Sideshow can make A LOT of $$ off of it and in turn start reducing prices or making higher quality pieces.

I agree.
They should "try" to schedule their releases around the same time as the Blue-Ray releases. Those BD discs will prompt more interest and if SSC waits too long they will loose sales.

If I was SSC I'd advertise inside the DVD cases, just like that one company does inside the Harry Potter cases.

I second what The Mike says. And you don't have to lug it around the park either, they'll ship it to the entrance if you don't want them to ship it home. I remember when I was at Universal in Florida they had the PF Monsters on sale.

And I'm secure enough in my manhood to buy PF Princesses.

Which one, the White Rabbit or the March Hare (Mad Hatter's companion)?

Hope you don't mind my helping out a little. And if you were just using the descriptions for those who don't the names sorry for stepping on your toes....

Peter Pan and Robin Hood are the two Disney movie characters I most associate with my young childhood. I would buy both in a heartbeat. I would probably get Wendy too as I had a huge crush on her when I was little. :lol

My lists would be differing depending on whether or not they actually include animated characters even human ones.

The top of the list either way is The Rocketeer.

In what world would this happen? Just because Sideshow has a profitable line doesn't mean that they would reduce prices or improve quality for their other lines. What it would mean is that they would start focusing more of their attention on the profitable line, to the exclusion of the other ones (just look at Star Wars as opposed to LOTR).
