I'm excited that we are finally getting a sneak peek of what we could expect to see from this line. Sparrow would be a must for me, along with Barbossa if Sideshow makes him. The rest I'll have to see as they are released. I don't want my PF movie collection overloaded with Disney items.

Just a Pirates line could go on for years. Same is true of Pixar. Sideshow could do nothing but Disney pieces for a few decades and there would still be plenty of characters left to do.

Which is kind of a bad thing because we could have real long waits for some characters. Like my personal biggest want would be Robin Hood and I have a feeling it could be quite awhile before we see him...if at all.

If the "Cave of Wonders" mini diorama is $225 then Jack is at LEAST $500. Of course I'd still probably get it. :D

I think the mini diorama is by Enesco and their stuff is (overly imo) expensive anyway. There are quite a few pieces I would love to have, but not for the price.

Maybe four PFs a year, one iconic character per film with no time for a full lineup from any single movie. The license is going to have to have breadth and not depth. It's not a Pirates line, so no time for multiple Jacks, Davy Jones or Barbossa. Just Sparrow and then on to the Rocketeer, Jack Skellington, Etc. They will have to touch on a film and then move along to the next one.

There is more potential for unfulfilled hopes in this line than any other, I'd say. More characters to choose from than Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or G.I. Joe, with fans from all over the spectrum in wild disagreement over what pieces ought to be a priority.

They may have to do a bunch of one-off characters.

I think they'll dip back into the waters of a license but only after looking at others, for example I think we'll get an Evil Queen from Snow White and a good number of other characters before seeing a Snow White PF. Jack will be done first but I don't doubt that eventually we'll get an Elizabeth Swann in probably the Pirate Gear from DMC and then a Davy Jones but they'll be other characters in between those releases.

I believe Tom said they were concentrating on PFs. And the license announcement just said PFs. And that's just fine with me. Here's a line where even I prefer PFs over 1/6. The Incredibles wouldn't work in 1/6, but has PFs? Perfect! And Jack Sparrow and Jessica Rabbit and Maleficent and Tron and and and...

Yeah that's definitely what has me concerned. For instance Jessica Rabbit will be awesome, but I gotta have Roger to go with her. And I'll be thrilled with Captain Hook, but I want Peter Pan even more (he's always been my second favorite after Robin Hood). And villains like the Queen and Malifecent will be really cool, but I want the princesses too. No matter what they produce and don't produce, this line is going to be awesome.

I think it'll definitely be one of those lines where you are planning for the long haul. I wouldn't be shocked if 2009 offered Jessica Rabbit and the tailend of 2010 offered Roger Rabbit or something along those lines.

I know it's probably been mentioned but I would love a light up Flynn, Tron or Sark from Tron. That would be SICK!

That wouldn't be bad. I just know I'll be disappointed if I buy Jessica and Roger never gets made.
