After seeing the Dark Phoenix stuff today, I'm OK with Disney doing a reboot to the X-Men films and scrapping Gambit, etc.

Hope they keep Deadpool though.

Those suits were great. And they only used them for one movie because some dumb shmuckheads didn't like FC's awesome stylish direction and wanted their crappy pseudo-bleak charmless tone back (cue DoFP whatever theme).

They seem to be using them in the dark Phoenix as well.....

I just read the news that the deal is all but done. The big question for me is, is Disney going to ingest 20th Century fox or keep 20th Century fox as a separate studio like Marvel and Pixar that would allow Deadpool and X-Force to continue under the Fox banner and be unhindered by the MCU. X-men and F4 are going into the MCU, that's a given, there's no way they don't put them in the MCU. I'm actually pretty stoked because this opens up the big villains for future phases such as Galactus or DR Doom. I bet we see the next few phases building up to a Galactus Avengers film.

That's not necessarily true, we have no idea what will happen to the more mature characters/films that Disney could acquire. If they release them under Touchstone or another way to keep them separate that would be great.

However, if the deal spares us "Singer" inspired X-Men team films and gives us more comic accurate representations of the characters, i'm happy about it. Bonus points if we get the X-Men interacting with the rest of the Marvel U too.

Interestingly it was just explained to me that Disney isn't buying Fox, its just buying 60 billion worth of Fox assets (Marvel stuff, Star Wars, etc.). Is that correct? For 60 billion I would think you get the studio, the lot and all its titles.

Also, the original Star Wars finally gets to join its brethren without attachment.
