I wonder how big of a run, say on Merry or Pippin, that Sideshow would have to make to still make a profit? They made 1,000 Frodos. I wonder if they'd still make a good profit if they only made 500 each of Merry and Pippin?
I would buy all. but then, I'm kinda partial to the good guys and the Fellowship especially.
I voted all three and would like them separate. If the existing PFs were designed to be displayed together, it would make more sense to combine some but as it stands they aren't. Each seem to come from a different scene in the movie, so if it were possible give me merry and pip in armour ala ROTK and Sam as a companion piece to frodo.
I think the LOTR PFs have not done as well as they could becos of the uncertanity surrounding the line.
Let ppl know that the complete fellowship is coming and more ppl will commit to the purhases.
I do not want Merry and Pippin in anything other than fellowship garb. And I believe these are the sentiments of about 99.5% of the other LOTR collectors out there as well.

I think I get where you are coming from in that knowing upfront that a Fellowship was a definate, the PF's would possibly sell out each time as soon as they were released on pre order. But, how many people access sites and forums like these and get to know about these things in the first place? They are becoming more desirable as more people get to know about them I think and they are looking to be a strong 'flagship' piece for the LOTR line.
I have been happy with the choices of garments up to now and though they would look great in their armour, I am in the 'Fellowship' garb camp
I still think that Frodo as a PF was a particularly hard sell given the size of the character and the price. I think that a lot of people (myself included) were expecting hobbits to be significantly cheaper since the size of the character is 1/2 other characters in the line. He may be smaller, but the same amount of time, resources, and design went into every aspect of Frodo as would a "human-sized" PF. The price point was a big issue for a lot of people expecting him to be $125-150 given he was so much smaller than Lurtz.
A lot of people didn't like the portrait either. I think it is a great Frodo, and the expression captures his character well. He looks scared of what is going on around him! My only quibble is the lack of a paint application in his mouth to give it more definition.
I hope that we get the "Fellowship" characters (hobbits included) and save armored or alternate costume choices for the maquette line. It would be a nice way to get the best of both worlds!
We should bombard the Q&A!
Is the fact that every PF is sold out, other than Galadriel and the reg. Gandalf, your idea of a line not doing as well as it could? Do you really think people refrained from buying The Berserker, Aragorn or Legolas [to name a few] because they're unsure as to whether all 3 remaining Hobbits will be produced? Please tell me your kidding.......
And as if those comments aren't silly enough, then you say you want ROTK version's of Merry and Pippin? Just what we need, 7 fellowship members in fellowship outfits, and 2 without. I do not want Merry and Pippin in anything other than fellowship garb. And I believe these are the sentiments of about 99.5% of the other LOTR collectors out there as well.
I've been doing that for month's....maybe you haven't noticed, but it's not exactly working.
