Did the show always have this sort of humor running throught each episode which i just find annoying

If you are referring to the Classic era then no it didn't, something that lasted 26 years obviously had more than it's fair share of crappy humor but there was also some genuinely funny stuff.

Anything written by Robert Holmes usually had some understated but brilliant satirical humor and some of the best comic double acts in the show's history came from him as well including Jago & Litefoot in "The Talons of Weng-Chiang" and Garron & Unstoffe in "The Ribos Operation".

The 2 stories written by Douglas Adams also had some great moments and "City of Death" in particular has what I consider the funniest scene in Who history ( where the Doctor meets the Countess ) and a brillliantly hapless detective who tries to solve everything by punching/breaking things which draws some great remarks from both the Doctor & Romana II.

Just finished End of Time pt 1.

WILF!!!!!!!

Okay as far as appetizers go, but I'm ready for the main course.

This was probably the best special this year......last 5 minutes was totally worth it....

I just hope that the last five minutes aren't then negated by the following 75. Let those 5 minutes carry on into the next series.

Just had a thought but..

What if Wilf is the one who will knock four times and is the one to cause the Doctor to regenerate?

We know Wilf has an important part to play, we just don't know what it is yet. I just hope he doesn't die. I loved how The Doctor said "Don't you dare!" when Wilf was talking about his own death.

I wouldn't call this my favorite 2009 special by a long shot. I still enjoyed it, but it seemed rushed and slow all at the same time. I was left with waaaaaaaay too many questions at the end, but that's kinda the point, with it being 'part one' and all.

I have lofty expectations for part 2. I know this team won't let me down, can't wait until New Years!

So there's a new exclusive clip on youtube along with the trailer for part 2. I came. I won't post direct links because there are MASSIVE spoilers from part 1. Either way I am sad, frightened, excited and happy all at the same time.

My wife thinks that Wilf is gonna end up being the Doctor's father and that he's been hiding out on Earth for a long time. She thinks that the line about him and the war (or whatever) was referring to the time-war.

Notice how the only two "Humans" that didn't change were Wilf and Donna.

Well......Donna had the time lord knowledge in her subconscious and Wilf was in the radiation chamber. I'm wondering if Donna will die immediately or will she be the Doctor-Donna a bit until she goes (which of couse we all know she won't). Would like to see the Doctor and Donna take on the master together.

But yea, that last 5 minutes was awesome :rock:rock:rock:rock:rock

That's really clever. I don't think Wilf would be The Doctor's father, but another Time Lord? He fought in a war and never killed anybody.... hmmmm.....

Wilf didn't change because he was in the booth, and Donna could probably be explained away by The DoctorDonna, but still, it's an interesting thought.

If we find Wilf having a certain type of watch that he really can't seem to open, I'm flying over to England and killing RTD

Just rewatched tEoT and I must say, when the master grabbed the doctor's head to show him the drums, there ARE 4 drums beats in each set of drums......"he will knock 4 times"....I'm just saying............

.

If you can provide me with a decent alibi, I'll save you the airfare :lol

70 minutes to go. The fireworks are all set! :D

Yea, didn't even really notice. I'd already seen that bit a few days before anyway and knew nothing of consequence happened :lol

The old guy that wanted to take his picture with the doctor

I didn't notice that either, so I gues I wasn't bothered by it. :D

Anyhoo, regarding the master being the four knocks: wrong. :peace

Man I cant wait to see what happens. This is gonna be such a long week. Also, as the starter of the thread I'm gonna make an appeal, PLEASE no unmarked spoilers until January 3. This is one where I think it's fair to let EVERYONE be surprised.
