McGann was definitely the best thing about that movie. The Master with an American accent was unacceptable, and the less said about the half human revelation the better.

I'd love to see some sort of flashback story with McGann and his regeneration into Eccleston.

Things I liked about it:
1. Paul McGann
2. The inside of the Tardis - it was very interesing to see the Tardis being more than one room - has this ever been done before?
3. Eric Roberts's line of, and i paraphrase "he calls himself the Doctor, or as he says it, Doctaa"
4. The opening credits
5. The female companion, while annoying at times she was actually quite a useful character.

Things I didn't like:
1. Eric Roberts and his American accent - definitely a Fox decision
2. The Doctor being half human - no doubt another Fox decision
3. The asian kid
4. The last 1/3 of the movie - seemed to fantastical
5. The Doctor's memory - it took too long for him to get his memory back, I would have liked to see more of McGann as the Doctor with memory. Has the Doctor ever lost his memory before when regenerating?

Overall I enjoyed it, but probably more so because I needed my Doctor Who fix.

I would add to your list of things that worked: Sylverster McCoy!

I liked the movie ok. I agree with bcm77 that the time war deserves a good 6 part miniseries. I am kind of glad that RTD didn't include McGann in The End of Time because it would taken the impetus away from there every being a Time War mini series.

Oh yes! The TARDIS is *HUGE*. You've gotten a glimpse of it in the new series when Tennant changed out of his PJ's in "Christmas Invasion". There have also been many classic stories (none of which I can name off the top of my head) that shows endless corridors, rooms, and even a garden!

Check out "The Invasion of Time" for a decent trip into the depths of the TARDIS.

Also the Doctor is usually out of sorts in the immediate period following a regeneration and brief memory loss is normal, I expect 11 will be the same in the new series.

Will have to check out "The Invasion of Time" then! Very cool stuff.

The story is by no means the best of Tom Baker's era, in fact it's nowhere near but there's some good moments and the trip into the depths of the TARDIS is intresting, if a bit comical.

Also, to address the above questions, check out Castrovalva. Davison unravels Baker's scarf whilst wandering the corridors of the TARDIS so he doesn't get lost and he has to go into the "Zero Room" because he's having a regeneration crisis. Pertwee and Tom Baker both took a little while to sort out their brains too and I'm not entirely certain Colin Baker's Doctor EVER got it sorted out. :rotfl I think the "official" explanation for his memory problems had to do with what CAUSED his regeneration this time. Due to his alien physiology, the anasthetic (sp?) killed him and "nearly destroyed" his ability to regenerate. It was said in one episode that an asprin could kill him stone dead so fuzzy memory was the least of his worries. :lol

The immense size of the TARDIS was established as far back as the Hartnell episode "The Edge of Destruction" just off the top of my head.

BTW the McGann TARDIS is my favorite, inside and out. :naughty

7 days to go until the new series!

Whilst it would be going too far to say I'm excited about it I am intrested and though my expectations are very low the clips I've seen so far suggest I may find enough redeeming qualities in it to at least watch it without wishing a violent death on the character that's meant to be the hero.

So far only two episodes I've read about have no intrest for me ( Daleks in WW2 and the one that's called "The Lodger" ) but I'll just miss them out and pick up things the following week.

That vampire clip was excellent, I've now seen enough to say that Matt Smith has already proved me wrong and he definitely has the "not quite of his Earth" quirkiness that his predecessor so badly lacked which is all kinds of awesome.

In addition his voice reminds me a bit of Peter Davison which is also good as he won't sound like he's forcing every line out as he's not doing an accent that's not natural to him.

I think I'm gonna like the 11th Doctor :)

I called Time Warner to ask how much it would cost to add BBC America to my cable package and was told $25 a month.

I will looking for alternate means to view this program...
