Yet again the Nu-Who sheep come out in force belittling my preference of era or my opinions of the most recent era of the show

To the following people I thank you for not behaving like intolerant scum,

what are you talking about? just because we disagree doesn't mean anyone is "belittling" you. And if that is the case haven't you been "belittling" us all for the past 2 years by disagreeing with our taste?

You're being a real jerk if you think we have to sit here and ignore your constant rants against nu-who just to make you happy. We posted very logical explanations of why WE like the show. Nobody told you you have to like it. We explain why WE like it.

If that makes you want to play the victim I feel sorry for you.

Honestly, I don't really pay attention to anything he says. Every post is just "tennant sucks" "I hate him" "I'm glad RTD is gone".....if you don't have anything productive to add, just don't post anything.

Blink is great. Lots of good quotes, great suspense. Good humor. Very good tv episode period never mind just Doctor Who.

personally it didn't matter whether Tennant was in it for 5 minutes or 35 minutes. great tv is great tv. the villians are great and so was the idea that the solution would be Easter Eggs in DVDs. I thought the writing was wonderful and the humor was great. "The angels have the phonebox"..."I have that on a t-shirt" exchange is one of the funniest moments I can remember on a Who episode.

Meh different strokes...personally I think "The Doctor" was a featured component of the episode even though the actor himself wasn't in it very much. And it was an episode that transcended being "Doctor Who" and was a pretty darn entertaining bit of tv no matter what the title of the show was. Over the course of a 12 or 13 episode season I think theres room to have an episode like that once in a while. Probably should have done that more during the Tom Baker years and improved the acting via subtraction.
I'll take a great hour of entertainment that didn't fit the "normal" format of a show over some piece of drivel that was written solely to satisfy some big headed actor that thought he was becoming the franchise itself.

^^^what he said

and bcm, it "deserves" to be called a Dr Who story, because it's on the Dr Who TV show, by the Dr Who writers & production team, with Dr Who titles & theme tune, in the Dr Who time slot.

That classifies it as a Dr Who story. Not every story in any particular TV series has to focus on the main characters all the time you know. A good story is a good story.

actually that's a good point. The Doctor played a key role in how those events occured. I'd say he was pretty damn important in how that story played out.

Mind showing me where anyone "belittles" you? Do it or recant the statement.

Yes. My only comments were that I thought they were brilliant and that I loved the ending. Just how in the HELL is that belittling?

You guys should use this....

Next time your "special" bus goes past a library I suggest you take the opportunity to learn to read. I have been more positive about the forthcoming series of late but that still seems to be somewhat short of what the fanboys want to hear.

This thread is always full of the same tired garbage, insults and snobbery. It's rather pathetic.

I saw a promo on BBCAmerica that the new season starts here in the US on april 17th. :joy I'm so glad we don't have to wait a year later to get new episodes anymore like we did when it was on Sci-Fi channel.

Have you seen the latest trailer? There's a shot of some RAF Spitfires flying round a Dalek saucer from the World War 2 episode which looks awesome!

Yeah, I saw it and it does indeed look awesome. I'm glad to see we're getting the Cybermen as well, I can never get enough of them. I do wish they'd change the design up a bit though. I've always liked that about the classic Cybermen, that they were a little different each time you saw them, like they were constantly upgrading themselves.

I think that all of us who contribute to this thread should just agree to leave all the negativity out of it. We are all pissing each other off and it really is annoying.

How about this......the tired old rule, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. No nu who sucks....No RTD is an idiot...No Tennant is a hack...

Why don't we just focus on get excited about the start of the new season.

With that being said, was watching a rerun on BBC America (right now as I type this actually) and they showed about a 2 minute clip for the new season and it looks amazing

If the rumor is true about the Mondasian Cybermen making a return in the series finale then maybe they'll be some new hybrid of the earlier designs and the Cybusmen which incidentally are one of my favorite things about the revival.

Ooooo, the proper Mondas Cybermen might be coming back? Consider me officially excited. :banana

According to one rundown of the various episodes I read at ( if I remember rightly ) Outpost Who the finale will be called "Cyber War".

Admittedly it sounds like fan-fic so I wouldn't get too excited yet but if true it'd be an awesome change from yet another "Daleks try to cause the end of the world" finale.

Another possible returning race may be the Sontarans as Christopher Ryan who played General Staal in series 4 is known to be in one episode but it's not been confirmed what character he'll be playing.

With the Sea Devils & Silurians also making a return there's quite a bit of stuff that I'm intrested in seeing and from what I've seen so far of the new Doctor it could well be the series that I've been waiting for since the end of the second one.

I am just soooo geeked over the two new trailers and particularly that creepy Cybermen scene which I just adore. I can't wait for the new Who season to start!!!

I have only been half-paying attention to spoilers lately as we get closer. Isn't the museum in the final two-parter supposed to be a museum dedicated to the Doctor? I might be way off on that. If so, there could be a lot of awesome past enemy cameos ala the Revenge Cybermen head in DALEK. :banana:banana

Some info I found,

season 5 starring Matt Smith

"The Eleventh Hour" by Steven Moffat

After redesigning the console room and choosing the older tardis exterior (or did it just default?) with the original ambulance sticker and a new coat of paint. He meets up with Amy Pond who is Scottish and working in London. Amy leaves her brother Rory for a life of adventure with the Doctor.

"The Beast Below" by Steven Moffat

Some monks gain access to the tardis. Humorous episode starring Terrance Hardiman as maybe the Meddling Monk(?) who paints the doctor into a corner. Terrance has been spotted on set wearing darkened glasses and a monk's uniform, the aliens for this episode are called "The Smilers" and according to Moffat they're devilish clown like figures!

"Victory of the Daleks" by Mark Gatiss

World War 2 story set on a farm with Winston Churchill, Devonshire tea, cucumber sandwiches and a Dalek. "I'll put the kettle on" (is this a homage to Spike Milligan?) very "Power of the Daleks" ish but 3 hours compressed into 44 minutes! Rumoured that the Dalek is in camouflage paint. Winston Churchill is confirmed and also a new Dalek with an eye stalk that is level with Matt Smith's head. (According to SFX )

"Time of the Angels" & "Flesh & Stone" by Steven Moffat

The Doctor takes Amy on a trip to see a crashed rocket and is discovered by River Song who has never met the Doctor before. The Doctor is immediately tense and nervous and has a lot of difficulty speaking with her, knowing he was there when she died.
unfortunately that isn't the Doctor's only problem. The Weeping Angels are back and he is tempted to use the Angels to wipe out River's potential future, thereby saving her life. The Angels paint him a grim picture of what their plans are.

"Vampires of Venice" by Toby Whithouse

Some left over vampire servants from the Time Lord Vampire War are controlling a house in Tudor times. They plan to paint the town red. Apparently Amy takes Rory on a 'first date' in this episode.

Title unknown by Gareth Roberts

A couple of characters who are as close as two coats of paint cause problems. The trailer shows River Song with a gun, and it's apparently from this episode, does River travel for a bit with the Doctor and Amy? Also it's been mentioned several times that this will take place in some sort of army base.

"Cold Blood" & "Warm Planet" by Chris Chibnall

Some lizards wake up thanks to global warming. A fourth race of creatures that had evolved after the moon appeared and after the Silurians (eocenes!), Sea Devils and others went into hibernation. The Doctor paints UNIT a picture of what to expect next.

"Give me your Ear" by Richard Curtis

A famous painter is involved, along with some absinthe. He wipes the floor with a yellow paint monster. Ends with a quick trip to Paris in 2010 to see the Mona Lisa ( A nod to "City of Death"? ).

"The Lodger" by Simon Nye
It's rumoured the Doctor leaves Amy traveling alone by accident and while she's gone he waits on earth with James Corden's character. Moffat says it's the funniest episode of the series.

"Silver Sentence" & "Cyberwar" by Steven Moffat
The return of this universe's Cybermen along with the alternate reality Cybermen in a war! A trip to Telos perhaps? Or back in time to Mondas?

For those who care: John Barrowman started his stint on "Desperate Housewives" last night. I guess he's going to be on for a few weeks.
