Just saw my downloaded ep. WOW! Just...wow. I love Matt Smith. He rocks. SHE rocks. Wow. Hot. The new Tardis. The new/old stuff. The crack...Prisoner Zero, all of it.
Just...wow.
There is such a nice and old/new feel to everything again. Love the titles too. Enjoy it folks. It is superb. Haven't seen an episode this man's written, much less produced, that I didn't prefer over the rest of the modern stories. We're in good hands I think!

Wow, this new Doctor reminds me so much of Peter Davison's Doctor, mainly his facial expressions.

That's funny because there were some moments (particularly in the part where he is in the garden with young Amy) where I thought the same thing.

He's nothing like Davison IMO..................he's actually got a personality :naughty

Still, he's way better than I anticipated and I'm intrested in the modern show again which is good. Still not watching the Dalek episode though.

You said the reason you didn't want to see the Dalek ep is because they've been beaten to death, yet by your own logic Doc 10 "never happened", so really, you haven't seen the Daleks since Eccleston. You HAVE to watch! It's been years for you since they've been back! :rotfl

My logic at times would cause Mr Spock to have a nervous breakdown but you have a point!

Now I know the new Doctor is decent I may rethink my position but I do think it's a waste of an episode that could be better used to establish something not seen before.

The Eleventh Hour was extraordinary. Matt Smith with one episode silences the critics--this guy is BLOODY BRILLIANT! And Karen Gillan as Amy Pond...WOW! That police outfit...WOW! Fanservice galore. This episode went right through the stratosphere. IN MOFF WE TRUST!!! HELL YES!!!

Teehee, that Dalek has blackout covers on its ear lights...:D

As for the new episode, I thought it was alright, bit crazy at times, but that can be explained by regeneration...

And as for my biggest fear, of Moffat making every episode into Blink, looks like that's not happening! YAY :D:D:D

WOW! this weekend is full of suprises. I didn't hate the new episode of the show and someone else actually thinks that pointless waste of 45 minutes isn't great. I thought I was the only one.

One thing I was pleased to see was a nod to Jon Pertwee's debut in "Spearhead from Space" as 11 also got his proper costume from a hospital locker room.

The humor was also much less forced than the previous era and actually funny in places especially the bit where he threw the bread & butter out the door :D

I wonder how many kids have now started eating fish fingers and custard?

Then it's just as much a reference to the 8th Doctor who took his clothes from a hospital locker as well.

Ok, just downloaded and watched the premier of series 5 and overall: IMPRESSED!!!!!!! I will miss Tenant, but Matt Smith looks like he will be brilliant!!!!

Yes!!! Just saw it and loved it. Looks like Matt Smith really has a confidence in the role, Amy is well.. hot, Tardis looks great, story was entertaining, and the season overall looks like it's going to be a real rollercoaster ride. Bring on Episode 2!

There is something almost steam punk-ish about the new TARDIS interior, not sure if i like it.

Gonna take few more episodes to make me see Matt as the Doc, but overall a good episode! as for the Tardis it looks smaller yet bigger?! i cant explain it! :rotfl

So glad to see our little thread finally getting some action! :chew

I just watched with the fam we unanimously agree that the future of Who is bright indeed. Personal thoughts in the spoilers...

One thing that I'm a little fearful of is that some of the previous Moffat "tricks" were pulled again in this ep:

"In the corner of your eye..." = "Don't blink"

Girl Amy to Woman Amy = Whole Madame de Pompadour in "The Girl In The Fireplace

I was still a little apprehensive about Matt Smith, he just seemed too young, but he definitely has a commanding presence as The Doctor.

I'm really glad Murray Gold stuck around, imo he's the best composer for television today. However, the title song really threw me for a loop. It wasn't as "adventurous" as the last. I guess they were going for a more "mysterious" vibe. It takes a bit to be recognized as the Who theme song. It's okay, I guess, it's just... different.

The big reveal of all the monsters and faces of The Doctor to the giant eyeball made me squee like a little girl!

Overall, I really liked it, and I'm super excited to see everyone here feeling about the same. :banana
