I know, if you back a couple pages i was begging for it to happen and woo! was a great episode though and i was dreading it because i hated last weeks, well done Who-Crew :hi5: im now dying in anticipation for the coming weeks!

Well this is certainly interesting. What is it.. only four new episodes left? I hope Amy stays around for the next series though. Would be nice to NOT have a revolving door for once.

It's already been confirmed that Amy is back for series 6. :)

I haven't watched Cold Blood yet, but I am looking foreward to it since last week was my favorite episode so far this series.

I really loved the Hungry Earth and Part One was one of my fav eps of the new season.

I thought Part 2 was "eh". Having the new race being discovered in part one was exciting.
Part two however followed the same plot too predictably and still ended with no peace between the two races. Again. For the third time. YAWN!
I hoped for an ending to the Silurian story more original.

The epilogue ending was interesting though.

Yea Eccleston didn't use it as a one-way-out-of-everything type of device. I still find it odd that Smith made his own, when according to Eccleston he destroyed the factory and planted banana trees...

....I like bananas, bananas are good

Actually, it's inferred that the Doctor made his even then. What he blew up was a sonic WEAPONS factory.

The Doctor: [identifying Jack's weapon] Sonic Blaster. Fifty-first century. Weapons factory at Villengard?
Captain Jack Harkness: You've been to the factories?
The Doctor: Once.
Captain Jack Harkness: Well, they're gone now, destroyed. Main reactor went critical, vaporized the lot.
The Doctor: Like I said. Once.
[looking over at Rose; matter-of-factly]
The Doctor: There's a banana grove there now.
[looks at Jack; smiling]
The Doctor: I like bananas. Bananas are good.

a little later

Captain Jack Harkness: [refering to the banana that he tosses back to the Doctor] Nice switch.
The Doctor: [catches banana; holds it up as he speaks] It's from the groves of Villengard, thought it was appropriate.
Captain Jack Harkness: There's really a banana grove in the heart of Villengard? And you did that?
The Doctor: [semi-shrug; waving the banana proudly] Bananas are good.

shortly after

Captain Jack Harkness: Okay, this can function as a sonic blaster, a sonic cannon, and a triple-fold sonic disruptor. Doc, what you got?
The Doctor: I've got a sonic, er, never mind.
Captain Jack Harkness: What?
The Doctor: It's sonic, okay, let's leave it at that.
Captain Jack Harkness: Disruptor? Cannon? What?
The Doctor: It's sonic, totally sonic. I am sonicked *up*!
Captain Jack Harkness: [yelling] A sonic *what*?
The Doctor: [yelling] *Screwdriver*!
[the boy and other gasmask creatures come towards them]
Rose Tyler: [grabs Jack's Sonic Blaster and points it at the ground] Going down!
[floor vanishes beneath them and they land in the room below]
Captain Jack Harkness: [stands after ceiling is repaired] Who has a sonic screwdriver?
The Doctor: I do!
Rose Tyler: [ignores them] Lights.
[starts to move around the room, looking for a switch]
Captain Jack Harkness: Who looks at a screwdriver and thinks, "Ooh, this could be a little more sonic"?
The Doctor: What, you've never been bored?
Rose Tyler: [still searching the room] There's got to be a light switch.
The Doctor: Never had a long night? Never had a lot of cabinets to put up?
Mask Creatures: [Rose finds the lights; turns them on to find the room filled with gasmask creatures; all start chanting] Mummy? Mummy!
Captain Jack Harkness: Door.
[all 3 run towards it]
Captain Jack: [when he realizes his Sonic Blaster's stopped working] Damn it! It's the special features, they really drain the battery.
Rose Tyler: The battery?
[both run through the door the Doctor just opened; after she stops]
Rose Tyler: It's so lame.
Captain Jack: I was going to send for another one but *somebody's*
[looking at the Doctor]
Captain Jack: got to blow up the factory.
Rose Tyler: Oh, I know. First day I met him, he blew my job up. That's practically how he communicates.
The Doctor: [finishes locking the door with his Sonic screwdriver] Ok, that door should hold it for a bit.
Captain Jack Harkness: The Door. The wall didn't stop it!
The Doctor: Well it's got to find us first! Come on, we're not done yet! Assets, assets!
Captain Jack Harkness: Well, I've got a banana and, in a pinch, you could put up some shelves.
The Doctor: Window?
Captain Jack Harkness: Barred. Sheer drop outside. Seven storeys.
Captain Jack Harkness: [sits in a wheel chair]
Rose Tyler: And no other exits.
Captain Jack Harkness: Well, the assets conversation went in a flash, didn't it?

"Cold Blood" was marginally better than the first part but still pretty meh, the Silurians were pretty close to the originals in character, right down to the division amongst them regarding the "apes" but still looked poor..........hopefully if they return we'll see a more traditional design.

Rory's departure will no doubt please some but I'm waiting to see if he gets brought back using Moffat's "time can be rewritten" get out of jail card.

I hope he doesn't because it's high time someone left and stayed that way in the modern series, all the reunions of the RTD era were pointless.

I just hope that if he stays gone it doesn't mean River Song travels with the Doctor & Amy beyond her appearance in the finale as she could easily become as intolerable as Donna or ( worse ) Amy starts to grow fond of the Doctor.

Moffat pretty much said in the confidential after that it was about time they lost someone from the TARDIS and
someone needed to die,

I feel like to opposite to everyone, i hated last weeks and loved this weeks more to do with Rory and the final scene more than the rest of the show i guess.

River WILL be back. Why do you hate a character that is smart, independent and confident? Is the Doctor supposed to be the only smart "person" on the show?

I gotta say River really grates on my nerves as well, though I do find her more interesting since the whole prisoner aspect was introduced.
I also don't think there's a chance in hell Rory will actually be staying dead.

I hate the way she treats the Doctor like her personal assistant.

I hate her ever present smug grin and "I know something you don't" demeanor.

I hate the whole notion of her being the Doctor's love intrest, stuff like that just takes away the mysterious aspect of his character that makes him so intresting in the first place.

If she returns beyond this series I'll just not watch those episodes, much as I plan on doing with the remainder of this one after next week.

Except she DOES know things he doesn't. Like what happens when the Pandorica opens. She's already lived it, he hasn't.

And I never thought the mystery aspect of the Doctor was so incredibly interesting, it was more the fact that he travels through time and space in a little blue box that makes him interesting. His personality makes him interesting.

And I never got the whole idea that she's using him as a PA. There's a whole series of events that lead up to her death that have to be lived.

It seems in your mind the Doctor should be the only one in all of creation that knows whats going to happen and when. And I'll never get the whole "oh the Doctor can't be in love", well apparently he was once because he had a granddaughter.

Why are you even replying to me anyway? I thought you were one of the Nu-Who fanboys that stopped paying attention to me because in your mind I was a "hater" of the whole thing?

You like the character, I don't. That should be the end of it.

Uh no, sorry because there's no such thing as Nu-Who it's all the same show. And what annoyed me a while back was your insinuations about my nationality. I'm presenting the reasons on why the character is the way she is to get a response other than "because I don't like her" but your now edited reply is just "I don't like her, you do, move on."

You also don't bother to address the question on why the Doctor can't fall in love. He's capable of it, so why can't he?

Interestingly enough, going back a few pages shows you have no problems quoting me when it suits your purposes even though in your mind I'm a "Nu-Who fanboy" so if you don't like what I've to say then why not ignore me?

despite all the arguments for and against i just literally watched river die in the library and it was quite nice, i think Rory will 100% stay dead maybe not forgotton like he is now but definately dead as a can of spam. I dont like River being as smug as she is especially if she knows whats going to happen to the doctor surely the doctor can act smug because he knows how she dies its two way street. bring back Jenny two time lords together traveling will be sweet!

I kinda hope they bring Jenny back.. but is she actually a Time Lady? I mean, is there a difference between being a Time Lord/Lady and just being from Gallifrey?

Jenny is not a Time Lord. She is Gallifreyen by race. :lecture

<-- is a geek. :date

Well I'd hope she's not a Time Lord... otherwise she has dangly bits. But really Pix, what makes one a Time Lord/Lady vs just Gallifreyen? Going to the Academy? Do all Gallifreyens regenerate or just Time Lords? How is that controlled? See these are things I think were never answered nor will they be.
