Well... It sounds both Christmasey and dreary in a way.

Most of what disappointed me is the regeneration.

I have to admit it sounds awful, but hey millage may vary.

On another note here's Peter Capaldi's reply to a young girls fan letter.

:clap

I love that Peter Capaldi got this part. So excited for him, just like I was for Tennant who was such a huge fan. I was just reading an article on the 1st Doctor docu-drama in DWM, and Mark Gatiss mentions how Capaldi visited the set and they were admiring the 1st Doctor TARDIS set. Capaldi was musing over the fact that he'd probably missed his chance to play the Doctor...

And now he IS the Doctor. So great. I am very excited to see what he does with it.

his handwriting is atrocious. his hs look like ws and...

**** can be awkward.

No wonder the Doctor got kicked out of the Timelord Academy :lol:lol:lol

Can't wait for Capaldi's autobiography, he'll be calling everybody twats until you reallise there h's :rotfl

Well he's been a fan since he was young.

I worked out he must have been about 17 when he submitted these to this fanzine.

For those who are obsessive about regenerations (like me), a fan as finished off the War Doctor's regeneration. If the Beeb had seen it through it would have looked just like this, so you can see why they chose to only show the beginning (since the source they used for Eccleston wasn't open mouthed). But I can't help feeling they could have done it just a wee bit further.

It's easy to picture, once the regeneration has completed, his eyes rolling back and Nine collapsing unconscious on the floor.

It's a shame some Paul McGann footage wasn't somehow incorporated into the 50th special. It was a nice little one shot. I don't think it was ever on BBC America, only Youtube. Did they air in on BBC over there?

Do you mean from the mini-episode Night of the Doctor or something shot that was cut?

Yes, it was on our 'Red Button' digital features channel, as was our 'The Five Doctors Reboot (ish)' and our 3D version of the 50th special itself.
