Just finished watching the Time Meddler. Simply fantastic episode and I'll recommend it to any fan of NuWho who hasn't seen the classic series. This is exactly the type of story that simply cannot be told in NuWho. Watch the entire story and you'll know why.

William Hartnell is spectacular, as always. Every time I watch him as the Doctor, I wonder where Frank Oz got his inspiration for Yoda...

I have a question for those more versed in the classic series than I:

Has The Monk ever appeared again? I'd love to see the followup to this episode if one exists.

Yes. He is also in The Dalek Masterplan. William Hartnell is also beginning to become one of my favorite Docs as well.

Thanks! I did a quick search on that story and it looks like many of the episodes from that story might be lost. That sucks, but at least I can read up on it and YouTube the episodes that do exist. :rock

I watched Revenge of the Cybermen...

The Cyberleader sounds very camp...

He's still cool though...

Headgun FTW!

Thought I would just pass this little spoiler about the 2009 Xmas special from DWF:

So that McGann rumour....I met up with my contact over the weekend and he has now heard from several different sources its happening.

Apparently during the Torchwood filming last week it was being discussed by certain members of the production.

Apparently McGann is doing some filming in eight weeks time.

His hair is described in the script as being shawn and he looks battered for the role. Apparently his last scene whn 10 leaves him is a standing up regeneration....

Please don't shoot the messanger...that's just what i'm hearing. From the same source who told me the Brig rumour, knows many of the cast and crew and is 100% reliable

The guy who posted this over there is considered a very reliable fellow.

If this is true, I can't wait.

I think that's about the only fan pleasing thing RTD hasn't tackled so far in the new series. We've had the Daleks, Cybermen, The Master, Daleks vs Cybermen, all the companions getting together to fight the Daleks, so it would be fitting for RTD to give us a multi Doctor story before he bows out for good. I know we've had Time Crash, but it's not like having a full episode of the series.

Pix, I didn't know you were a member over at Doctor Who Forum, I've been posting there just over a month under the name NuWhovian.:D

Having Paul McGann in the episode would help divert some attention from the charisma vacuum that is David Tennant but I'm still not sure if I can muster the enthusiasm to watch until the new regime takes over.
Most of the other "fanboy" moments of late have failed to deliver and I have zero faith that a full length multi Doctor story on RTD's watch will do so.

Come on Brendan. You know you're gonna watch the specials:D

I'll maybe watch the Christmas one seeing as the Cybermen are in it but the only way I'll watch any of the ones next year is if there's a regeneration to Doctor number 11 to celebrate :lol

I'm pretty sure it's coming. I think if Tennant was going to continue into series five we'd have heard something by now. It'd take longer for them to find another actor to portray the next Doctor and I'm sure when the BBC press officially announces Tennant's leaving they'll want to be able to say "and so and so's taking over as the Doctor from series 5". Of course this is pure speculation on my part, but it's just my feeling on what's likely to happen.

I think it would be cool if they left Tennant on a cliff hanger and did a whole series with McGann. :)

(I like Tennant, but I am ready for new blood).

I don't think they start shooting series five until next summer. There's no point in saying anything until then, surely?

Probably not but the endless debate of whether or not Tennant will be back for series five is getting tiresome. It's in the British tabloids every other day, no real news just speculation and I'm sick of seeing the artcles to be honest. I remember reading one as far back as last May and it's just dragged on and on since then. I quite like Tennant, I just wish the BBC would tell us on way or the other.
