I feel so sorry for Rainman This situation is far from perfect and is definately not what he would want! He was still looking at this thread at 5am in the morning because the guy can't sleep because of this tricky situation

I have gotten to know this person over the last 2-3 months and we speak most days at quite some length. I can not speak highly enough of this man! He is so humble and believe it or not very much cares what we think of his figures. He worries very much that we may critique his paintjobs, his sculpting and his clothing. He absolutely is not motivated by money, this has become very apparent to me over the time we have been talking! He wants to please us all very much with every release.

This situation is really tricky and I do feel for both camps if you like! I certainly know this is not what Rainman wanted or even expected. I know this will be worrying him greatly as he wants to do right by everybody

Like I said, for me personally its OK, I'll go for the 'head+clothing' set. I've already made the mental transition necessary. I'm just curious if there are ANY figures left to be ordered.

It's nice to know that Rainman cares so much but I hope he'll go to sleep soon and get some rest. The world's always better after sleep.

Easy thing is to just scrap VIP on this release and run VIP from the next one, no point in losing sleep. Or have u sneaky freaks ordered already!!

Collecting is an elitist hobby!!

If it was said VIP etc from start I'm sure we won't be where we at now with this rumble on this thread.

I didn't buy other rainman figs as I had no interest in them, now I want my 1st full rainman fig and to know some of u have 1st dibs, is a kick in the balls.

Volume of fig don't worry me and I don't think it's the point IF we all have a fair stab at it or explained from the beginning of the thread._

It seems there simply isn't any completely fair way out of the situation. It was a mistake and regardless of how this works out I've personally lost no respect at all for Rainman or his work. Ecspecially if it's bothering him so much.
One thing I've learnt is that for small mistakes such as this regret is pointless , it doesn't help anything so if you haven't already get some sleep !.

I have to be honest in saying though I don't think the " VIP " system seems very fair if a limited number has been given and then some sold before the apparent release date. I wouldn't mention it if it was just this one case but I presume this was happening on past orders to.

Exactly what I'm saying all along, its sneaky bs that most of us had zero idea was happening etc.

If I had simply been told this :

VIP order 3/17/11

IF there is anything left General Public orders will take place :

3/19/11

We would not be having this discussion.

Rainman would not need to feel bad or anything. It would be great for him. THe reason he feels bad is because he knows he didn't fill us into to this at all.

It was not a language barrier, it simply was never info given to us in any tongue.

With that information, my decision to sell an $800 grail item would also have played out very differantly. I would still have it and would simply have understood that I can only get a $500 clothing set I could have put on my credit card.

Just how I feel. I feel bad for Rainman, poor chap. I'm happy with a painted head and clothes set, maybe he should offer a larger number on this.

Rainman is a class act of course wants only happy fans and customers. I know he didn't anticipate this situation, and hopefully he can correct and clarify the ordering procedure for future releases, but to change this edition size after people have paid with good faith about what they were purchasing is not right.

Is there a way to know the answer to this question other than Rainman himself answering ?.
How many VIP members are here with confirmed orders ?. I'd presume there isn't many left if there is a few since Rainman wouldn't be worried otherwise.

just guessing here, but you could still put them in your cart looking like 4-5 were still available, meaning to me that not all 20 sold through, up until a couple hours ago. but I don't know if the button was disabled or if all 20 were sold.

I went to the site and all I saw was SOLD OUT. Buttons, carts, what is all this? I thought the preorder was 7pm tomorrow -- how can you put something in your cart in advance? All this is confusing. No wonder people snicker about the Rainman ordering process.

I signed up long ago, got a couple emails then nothing. Got no notice of the upcoming 3-19 sale.

bc there is/was a vip ordering button which used to show up as well. I remember people being confused and asking about it during the 'Heels' or 'Narrator' ordering.
