When I think about early Lucas then Dune 2021 pales in comparison. When I think of the PT Dune becomes an instant masterpiece, lol.

Clown I know you don't think that Villeneuve wouldn't be a good fit for SW but to me Dune showed how good the prequels could have been. I mean I have a freaking 14 and 11 year old and they were both pretty enthralled with even the politics of Dune. Imagine if that level of skill had been applied to the PT. Villeneuve can make sci-fi politics interesting, he can make exclusive orders of beings with special powers interesting, he can do seedy underworld. I say give him the Jedi, give him the Sith and the Old or New Republic and let him run wild.

I think he would be a perfect fit for Star Trek. 🖖

He's clearly a good filmaker, so I'm sure he can make a good Villeneuve film out of anything, even SW, but will it still be SW?

But any new Trek movie will have to have MCU humor in it. I can't even watch Trek anymore with the Abrams verse or whatever non-sense shows they have going on. Picard is just milking it.

Villy Trek would at least bring it back to where the tone should be.

They already did that with the JJ films. As much as I like the OG characters and TNG, I rather have brand new cast. Some new iconic 21 century characters. Enough with the nostalgia and rehashing old characters.

Like SW...lolololol. I guess if the tv shows are getting renewed people are watching it. They did make 3 SW sequels movies. People keep accepting recycled trash.

Yeah, just look at your signature.

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it. Really liked the way the Voice power was handled in it. The Fremen being honorable warriors was done well. Liked the dragonfly style of the ships on Arrakis to. Really curious how part 2 plays out without Feyd. Some parts of the movie were still very abridged from the book of course but some things were too short for me overall. The Duke Leto story is too short so to me the betrayal scene has no real impact. There is no explanation on Dr. Yueh's conditioning and the Mentants weren't really explained. I'm glad I read the book ages ago. Overall I would give it an 8.5 out of 10 though.

Kyle MacLachlan was right, this should've been a TV series. Would've benefitted greatly.

And it's not like LOTR where each movie came out a year after... this one we have to wait 2 years for a part II, maybe even longer.
