Yes, everything stripped including ankle pegs. Don't suppose you have a photo of the state it's currently in? I'm curious to see how bad it can get.

Cheers mate. I have to say that it isn't as bad as i've seen. The damage was on the 'mesh' rubber beneath the ab plates. It had literally melted and was gooey. So quite an extreme chemical reaction. In fairness, I could live with it as it isn't 'that' noticeable however why, when i paid stupid money for it?
And Geil, Eric is the man. His customer service is second to none. Definitely my no.1 Hot Toys seller.

I got mine from gohastings when they were cheap and what I have is pretty stiff, plastic biceps plates. They are definitely not rubber. Are the leaky biceps rubber or plastic? I pulled mine off when all the talk started happening and I have no signs of oil.

Biceps with oil... Plastic or Rubber?

i got 2 replaced and they are both leaking bicep oil. and they are both rubber not plastic. i just emailed hot toys to see if they could help me . if not. im wondering if tearing the bicep armor off would stop the leaking. maybe replace it ?

Likewise. I got my replacements on Jun 11 and 11 days later they start slowly oozing. I honestly thought it was finally over.

I would too but I'm not prepared to burn another £17 to ship it back to Kowloon again *hoping* for a fix again.

However there is a problem with that for their policy. I just cannot see them replacing it again.

  • Replacement claim is only accepted if it is a result of errors in the production or manufacturing process (i.e. receipt of incorrect or defective item, etc.)
  • All accessories or items can only be replaced once only. Replacement does not apply to package and man-made damages.
  • Hot Toys reserves final rights on all replacement requests.

I purchased two, Robbie, with two different vendors and they both have thin hard plastic bicep plates. It feels like the same material as the abs. I don't know what others wound up with, or what further tweaks HT made during their run of the figure, but mine aren't leaking after several months out of the box. My guess is that they adjusted this too after some time. Perhaps the rubber bicep plates are leaking, and the hard plastic ones are not.

Explain that to some of the people who bought theirs from BBTS with the oozing biceps within this month.

I wasn't trying to be a beast, voudon. I was just remarking that the figures I received (1 from BBTS, 1 from TOYNK), have hard plastic bicep plates, and haven't given me anything to worry about since May. I'm definitely understanding of the frustration of those with leaking rubber pieces. Hope HT does a little more research before they release their next rubber suit figure.

Thats the thing that doesn't make sense though. Somebody has had a replacement directly from Hot Toys this month and bought one from BBTS this month which both are now oozing. They get it two months after you and it's leaking. You've had it two months before them and it's not leaking.

Just like I got it near mid June after you.

There's only a few explanations for this.

1, They must be just an extremely firm rubber making you think it's plastic.
2, Some figures from certain production runs have cured properly so no oil.
3, Some never cured properly that some of us are having the side effects.

Why would Hot Toys make some figures with plastic and some with rubber... even to this day. Replacements are not coming with used bits.

That would be like still making some figures with rubber abdominal plates and some with plastic but every figure from mid April is coming with plastic abdominal plates to this day. Nothing has changed for that part.

yeah i got mine about 2 weeks ago and it was oozing out of the box

That'll be 3 this month then, you and Platty from dealers and somebody else with a replacement directly from Hot Toys.

Hardly. Its easily one of the nicest looking figures ever made.

And one of the most disastrous. Really a shame the best company in 1:6 couldn't rectify this issue and instead, prefers butt____ing it's customers, distributors and retailers (as several will/are likely stuck with him).

I'm certain it's not rubber. It's a plastic plate, thicker than the shoulder pads and thinner than the abs. I think they changed it at some point during production. It's not that they are still making them with rubber, but that we have no say in what inventory they pull from. I doubt they are sending out the palettes in the specific order they were produced. They certainly wouldn't waste the prior runs with rubber biceps. They're probably just sending out whatever's left. Who knows why, unless we speak with the warehouse/manufacturing facility it will always just be a question mark. Judging from what others have said on this board, I'm not the only one who received hard plastic biceps either. I also noticed that the breastplate decals on one of mine is significantly darker than the breastplate on the other. Just another weird alteration in the production I suppose. Or maybe a defect? It's nearly impossible to know for sure why they make all the changes and when. It sounds like the seeping for those with rubber biceps can be remedied though via the method you came up with. So hopefully we all win in the end, cuz it's still such an awesome figure.

I know. I don't think anyones denying that but after a while you need to get over it, no? They ef'd up not doubt but I rarely hold grudges ....... i've waisted far too many brain cells stressing out over the years. Now, if this ____ happens again? Shame on them ....... shame on me.

Easily. Sublime looking figure.

I'm pretty much sure mine are plastic (i'll double check after) and I had a tiny bit of oil on just the one bicep out of the box. After the first wipe it hasn't come back and it has been 5 days or so since I opened him.

Yeah I got mine from BBTS and has the tiny bit of oil as I say. When I first saw it I was expecting constant problems but it hasn't been back since I first wiped it off. So as of this moment i'm happy. When I say wiped it off, it was nothing, a quick brush with the finger. No tissue and rubbing (lol) or anything. Anyone could have mistaken it for a little finger mark, like you get when you touch the legs of the figure, and been none the wiser.

The rubber suit around the bicep armour is actually a darker colour on the side which is leaking compared to the other side. I noticed it earlier. Just something to point out. I'll post up pics soon hopefully. Maybe the oil I had on my bicep was just oil they have used when slipping on the suit.
