Just picked mine up.

Leaky left bicep. Straight out of the box. You all know the score. Was kind of preparing myself for the worst, thinking "maybe it will show after a month or two" but no, straight out of the box as I said. Kinda ruined the figure slightly for me and I haven't even had it 5 minutes! Argh.

well there are still some success stories of getting replacements for leaky abs keep going after HT. But leaky bicepts is not likely going to see any resolution

mine is still in the box and I have been checking it periodically over the last month. It has not shown any signs of leaking yet, but I know it is a pipe dream to think that it will never leak. I am not going to buy anymore rubber 1/6th scale figures. This hobby is too expensive as it is. As wonderful as these figures are, I no longer want to waste my money on toys that will deteriorate after a few years.

Anyone still think HT really gives a %$#% about this problem?

Which is sad and proves one thing.... The next rubber figure release *may* go the same path because if Hot Toys never tried to improve their quality control now, they have no intention in the future. Especially the fact that in late July knowing full well of this world wide problem they are still denying some people replacements.

The evidence is all in front of us.

So was my first figure until I took it out of the box and looked around the back or lifted up the shoulder pads.

Hmm worried now. The guy in China I sent it to told me on the 13th of July he sent it back to Hot Toys but he said they told him. " it may take many days for a replacement" hmm would this be a case of they have run out of bodies and have to make a new run?

Jeez, sorry to hear that man. Can you get it replaced?
Living with it for now.

Anyone heard the saying "same sh|t different day" well, that applies to this, it's the same as the abs, "same problem, different place"

Just hope it doesn't destroy the biceps. How am I supposed to know it if will? Therefore I don't think i'll ever fully be able to enjoy the figure.

My advice, anyone looking to buy one, don't, even DCD batch. With any luck we may see new batches with plastic bicep plates. That may be a knee jerk reaction but i'm not arsed, it's not wrong to expect a perfect product.

You are right about this. We pay a lot and it is not too much to ask to have a product that we don't have to wipe and worry about deteriorating. I have given up on HT's batman figures. I might even sell my OC batman before the rubber on it starts to fade and breakdown.

Hmmm, now there's one figure I would never sell!

I can't bring myself to sell it. It's just amazing how much trouble the DX is having. My seven year old stethascope is made of rubber and I don't have to wipe it down. No leakage problems with it and I abuse the crap out of it. The rubber is still in good shape, despite the heat and other conditons I expose it to.

All I remember is this one... :panic:

"Oh man, I can't _____**ing believe this. Another basement, another elevator. How can the same $h!t happen to the same guy twice? "

It wont if you do what I did. Keep flat padded kleenex below the plastic shoulder pads. The kleenex soaks up any small traces and the tissue dries. If any oil builds up on the outer parts that kleenex can't soak up wipe it with a damp wet rag. Don't rub it with a dry tissue. I've found a dry tissue/rag only aggravates the oil and only smears up if you wipe it with that. It still looks wet/greasy when you've wiped it. When a damp towel takes it from the surfaces it no longer looks greasy and can take 2 - 4 days to come back at a much slower rate. As well as slipping plastic dividers below the kevlar plates itself.

The biggest mistake I made was leaving it in the box and barely or never checking it. Even though lifting the lid everything looked all fine. Until one day I took it out looked around the back and it was wet as well as lifting the plastic shoulder pad to see. I nearly died when I saw all that oil and bubbles. Keeping it dry is the key. When it's moist for long periods (weeks/months) thats when the damage is slowly made. It softens the carbon kevlar decal, when it becomes soft it then slowly lifts from the surface and stretches on it's own because it no longer has a surface to stick to if it's soaking.

With any luck we may see new batches with plastic bicep plates. That may be a knee jerk reaction but i'm not arsed, it's not wrong to expect a perfect product.

I think replacements for us was a burden to Hot Toys even though they screwed up for us all. They are long done with this figure. I still don't get why they make parts rubber when it doesn't need to be. Rubber should only be used where articulation is required. Those bicep plates need no flex whatsoever.

Well mine leaked pretty much from day 1 when I got it late last year. Wasn't too bothered and left it boxed up in the attic. Brought it down on Sunday and low and behold, the area around the abs has melted and the grey bit on the rear of his left shoulder has bubbled. Emailed Eric @ Toys2 and good as gold, he contacted HT's and they have agreed on a replacement....
Question: I know you send it less accessories but do you send it minus it's boots too?!
Cheers in advance....

Yes, everything stripped including ankle pegs. Don't suppose you have a photo of the state it's currently in? I'm curious to see how bad it can get.

I don't know about you guys, but my bicep plates are hard plastic just like the abs. I haven't experienced any residue since I unboxed them back in May. I keep an eye on it, just in case, but there's not much I've seen to worry about.

mine are plastic also. Are the leaky ones rubber?

plastic bicepts made it out into this world as well??? what time frame you guys got it from? I hear the leaky abs eventually felt hard as well or you really have yet another "batch". hmm can you guys provide the serial# from your box comapred to those of other DCD batches with rubber bicepts.
Wanderer are't you glad you got it through Eric ;) But yea I be curiouse how bad it can get as well by seeing some pictures. We have to send some pictures to Cristian Bale to warn him of the potential risk he is at when wearing the suit

Explain that to some of the people who bought theirs from BBTS with the oozing biceps within this month.
