Still really feeling good about canceling and buying the 1st version Dark Knight Batman for like $100. I have the DX cape on him and he looks perfect.

I'll happily have him look 5-10 pounds heavier in the stomach, then something that needs a catheter.

^^San you said you broke down and bought the dx02 even though you knew about its problems, so if it breaks down you can't get mad. Its like a girl tells you she is a cheater when you date her, and she cheats on you later and you get pissed at her.

Oh I'll be mad. Everyone who buys this figure knowing how bad this figure is will be mad. I've braced myself for the worst already. Will I _____ and moan about it? Maybe a little. but that's what this thread is for right? I'm not going to be suprised with the problem. I'll probably end up saying my peace and that's it. If it's really that bad I'll probably end up selling it off on ebay like everyone else.

Not really. It was started to try and keep track of how widespread the problem was and to bounce around any thoughts regarding what could be causing it and how it can be dealt with or what information people got out of Hot Toys and their dealers. It's become more of a complaint thread as ideas have dried up and HT's gone quiet.

Exactly. I meant what this thread is about NOW. I mean yeah it's ridiculous but we all need a place to vent right. I'm sure I'll come to terms with the flaw. I'll give it an aw crap then then either sell it or keep it. We all hate flawed figures dont we?

It sucks, but we also try to keep this site from looking like a place jsut for people _____ing, so it's not really encouraged to have a thread solely for that.

as you said MF, it's a case to case basis, so personally, i am very much happy with mine. oil is minimal and is something that doesn't really bother me at all. The figure is just a beautiful piece.

indeed, what's sad is that HT might have totally "forgotten" about this because they're so busy with the IM franchise and thus might turn off potential future buyers of the 1/6 scale hobby, but then again, they just keep nailing it out of the park with their designs that for me, they could be forgiven for messing up maybe once a year.. although sad to see it happen to such an iconic figure.

I actually had mine up on ebay when my DX arrived but cancelled the auction when I noticed the leaking. I'm sooooooooo glad I did. I'm content with mine as well rather than having to continually deal with the wiping. The DX looks significantly better, but weighing the headache to the extra detail, detail lost.

I received an email from Urban Collector where I have two dx02 on preorders and they said that hot toys sent DCD emails telling them that the issue has been resolved for the US release. I don't believe them because all the people that have replacement bodies are still leaking.

When people have a DCD wave figure in hand for several months with no leaking, I'll believe it.

My concern would be that if the DCD wave proves to be leak free, people are gonna buy them like mad. They might suddenly be hard to find. That's part of the reason I kept my pre-order.

Also, it's not like it will be fixed in the future if it's not fixed for the DCD batch. So I figure, if I'm determined to own the figure, why not buy now. :dunno

I doubt this item will be that hot after release. I think waiting to see is the best option.

So if the DCD batch still has the oil problem what option would you have if you still wanted the figure?

I am not nutz for this figure, so I would be just as happy buying a version 1 and upgrading some parts, I know that won't cut it for all of you though.

If you really want this figure, then yes, you might as well take one from the DCD shipment, because you're right, they might offer some replacements shortly after it goes out, but there won't be any fully improved versions later if it's not done now, other than if this suite reappears in the 3rd version and they try to make more money and redeem themselves from this fiasco and do a limited run of it like the Begins costume was put out with TDK figures.

IF that happens, and that's a BIG IF We wouldn't see that until the final installment of the movie in a few years. It would be great to get another one of these in a 3rd version where they've had time to work on the suit's problem, but I think it's safe to say that would happen ever. :(

That would actually be great timing. By the time the 3rd version is out our blunder-ful DX Batman would have corroded away quite nicely.

It's sad that even though I'm expecting a horrible DX Batman I'm still getting it. UGH WHY DO I LOVE BATMAN SO MUCH?!?!

I ended up canceling the 2 pre orders i had. i will pick it up maybe half a year after the dcd release if there are no problems. can't stand the thought of having two of these leaking on my detolf.
