Has your DX02 shown signs of residue buildup in the abdominal area?

That would actually be great timing. By the time the 3rd version is out our blunder-ful DX Batman would have corroded away quite nicely.

It's sad that even though I'm expecting a horrible DX Batman I'm still getting it. UGH WHY DO I LOVE BATMAN SO MUCH?!?!

The figure looks so good, I know that if I hadn't bought one yet, I'd probably still take a chance on it, if it were a so-so figure, I might have said, eh, it's a shame but I'll pass, but the slightest chance of having this figure and finding someway to have it problem free feels worth it, because minus this problem, it's so awsome.

It is a great looking figure. I have both the V1 and the Medicom one which looks better than the V1 in my opinion, but neither comes remotely close the the DX. They had done such a good job making it look accurate it's darn near impossible to resist.

The DX feels like a cross between Medicom and HT v1, the body proportions of Medicom with the detail level of Hot Toys.

I received an email from Urban Collector where I have two dx02 on preorders and they said that hot toys sent DCD emails telling them that the issue has been resolved for the US release. I don't believe them because all the people that have replacement bodies are still leaking.

I really hope this is true. However, I have a bad feeling that Hot Toys is just preemptively trying to get DC off their backs. If it is true, they definitely owe it to all owners of the previous runs to replace their torso, even to those that have received the "improved" replacements.

My concern would be that if the DCD wave proves to be leak free, people are gonna buy them like mad. They might suddenly be hard to find. That's part of the reason I kept my pre-order.

Also, it's not like it will be fixed in the future if it's not fixed for the DCD batch. So I figure, if I'm determined to own the figure, why not buy now. :dunno

I had a similar concern. Ultimately, I decided to keep my pre-order, but the decision to keep or not too keep had been driving me mad. I already have Joker DX, and I really want a Batman to go along with him. I strongly considered getting the V1, but then I knew it would bug me forever that I never got the better looking DX.

Fingers crossed!

Just got my replacement and it also came with the plastic sheet insert/seperator. It has no residue whatsoever on any part of the abs nor the arm plates so let the adventure begin :D

yup, nothing YET
At least it didn't arrive with anything surfacing so that's something right? ;)

Maybe. Maybe not. Mine was dry that day I got it too.

No I mean no clear dividers below the biceps? nothing changed in below there? shoulder or the kevlar plate itself.

Also has Eric commented on any of this at all? surely he knows by now Hot Toys are being d!*k$...

I assume MaulFan's is on his way to him as well?

Nothing under the biceps and no other changes I can see.
Eric is just as puzzeled and I am sure he is praying that this is a chapter that he can leave behind soon as well :p

Eric and every other dealer. It's bad enough if numerous figures are broken, but worse when the manufacturer wants no part of helping you to take care of your customers.

How thin is the plastic sheet? I wonder if a piece of the plastic they use around the head, cut to the proper size, would do just as well...

Those were sticky. One sided anyway.

You're better off getting a sheet of those clear sheets for projectors that you write on with a felt pen. Cut it to shape and slide it in.

Actually I jsut realized now that the entire abs /chest part is one stiff piece now! Now that I have seen it I think I remember someone mentioning it here. It is no longer some flexible rubber but rather a hard plastic! I could not tell from jsut looking at it as the paint job is done extremely well. Guys I think HT did listen and this is from the latest batch!!!!! It is still rubber on the sides and back and bicept but I can't imagine this material oozing anymore!

could you post a picture? im curious to see what that looks like

I am already one foot in the... Bed ;). But I will show comparison shots tomorrow as I kept one from the prev batch with a little less oozing.

This may be true, but probably not, the only reasoning I can think of right now is that HT didn't want to "waste" the bodies they had up to this point so they found a temporary fix (the plastic sheets) and did replacements with that. That way they save on money and save their rep (or so they think). On top of that they keep DCD happy by fixing the problem.

That's my reasoning as well.
