Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

So is this worth upgrading from the MMS117?

Ok, so the short of it is I'll keep my MMS117.

Hi hard to pronouce name guy:wave.... I kid, I remember talking about this with you about six months ago ish, and if I remember correctly you chose the mms117 over waiting for this dx based on the proto pics and based on those pics you made the right choice, However based on the revised sculpt I think its time for an upgrade. The new sculpt is far better than both the proto and mms117 and truely captures arnies likeness, I don't have it inhand yet but think we have a winner here imo.

Hey Skull :)

Yes I picked up the MMS117.
I think the PERS ruins the sculpt. Will you have the figure without the glasses on at all and like it?

Pers never helps any sculpts, it only ruins them or adds more posing options. In this case the sculpt is great, pers only seems to hurt it in a few select photos but actually it looks pretty good in most photos and I think that when in hand this figure will rock. I will have to see when I get mine as to how I will pose it, I think with the glasses on is win all the way and says terminator with or without pers being an issue or not.

Let us know what you think once you have him in hand.

great pics there. argulably better than OMG's IMO.

:lecture:exactly:

Im actually going to be in the market for a second DX10 Headsculpt to replace my Toadinator head. So if anyone is selling or willing to trade one let me know. I will have an extra DX11 Laughing Sculpt up for trade for one. (Whenever HT decides to release him).

yea thinking about getting another DX10 sculpt but to turn into an end cyberdyne scene. Slight BD. would have to by a new jacket and body too though :gah:

... I don't know how some people trash this sculpt when it's very similar to EB's 1/4 T-800 (as shown in the comparison) with dazy eyes which is praised.

This sculpt is beyond the MMS 117.

:goodpost: My thought exactly, the enterbay sculpt is great but has three flaws

1 sleepy eyes
2 puffy hair
3 egg like lumps on the fourhead

All are minor issues and the sculpt on that figure is great. As for the new dx it looks nearly identical to the enterbay version minus those issues although the hair by the ears is to tight to the head as in the movie his hair kinda sat on top of the ears. Also the pers looks weird in some pics and good in others so in hand I will see for myself in hand.

I prefer it to EB's first sculpt purely because that one still looks to me like some random German guy. I can tell who it's supposed to be, but when you compare it to this new DX by HT and especially EB's new battle-damaged version, it's hugely inferior IMO. Jaw has always struck me as too scrawny and the eyes are odd too.

I swear to God that was my first thought when I saw the new sculpt but I didn't say anything because I didn't feel like getting blasted. I know how horny everyone is for the EB figure.

I'm thinking I mite sell my enterbay t-800 and buy the DX10 and the EB BD T-800. So many cool T-800's on the horizon, unfortunately there just isn't a place for all of them in my collection.

Quoted for truth :lol

People seem to be saying that the HS is only good with the shades on whereas the truth in the matter is that that also applies to the EB figure as well.

Maybe in that picture it's close(ish) although I am starting to see a bit of Obama in the Hot Toys sculpt :lol
However I have not seen one picture of this figure that comes close to Arnie's likeness in this photo. I don't get how anybody could say this looks like some random German guy :lol
