Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I am quite shocked with DJango licence! :horror when they announced it... but they are pure star power whores...

As for Chuck, you are right. I have actually contacted Arnie kim and told him "what the hell is up with no Chuck? no back alley gang?"

He told me Chuck is a religious loser who will not agree to a figure being made in his likeness!

Agreed on Variety man... in this world, we need a new Sarah Connor, Little John, Miles & a new insane t-1000 with triple the accessories. :hi5:

I'm surprized Deathasylum, my only experience recently is with Scarface and CHE, both had RM-5 bodies and they were outstanding! I only say that with such glee because Tony Montana's neck had little hairs painted on it, and when he turned his head, the soft rubber on the neck would move like skin... I was seriously blown away...

But I'm almost certain you have more experience in this matter, as you have more Enterbay stuff and 1/4 at that... I can't speak on those..

Hope nobody is mad at this subject matter being :offtopic:

I should clarify a bit more. It's the shoulder, ankle, & knee joints that I have a lot of problems with on EB bodies. I totally agree that the neck is awesome on the Scarface. :)

Yeah enterbay is a good company but not my favorate, they used to have some of the lamest licences like dragonball, and weird asian movies like storm riders. Only when they got the t2 licence did they put something out that got peoples attention, then rambo and batman put them on the map. The only issue is there 1:6 line up kinda sucks, mib, django, and nba stuff just don't do it for me.

There 1/4 scale stuff is nice and is where they excell, but I'm a 1:6 collector and not looking to have a large collection of big @$$ action figures all over my house:pfft: I got the clean t-800 from them and I'm happy with it as a centerpiece to my collection but thats it. I will get the endo from hot toys and likely call it at that for 1/4 stuff.

If they start making 1:6 figures that hav'nt been made I would be into that, Make t2 t800 endo before hot toys puts it out, or stop competing with them and make something new like storm toys t3 t1, or a chuck norris from any movie that was cool, heck make a chuck norris from the movie he fought bruce lee in if your in love with bruce so much:lol

It just starting to get old with umteen t-800 variants being put out between hot toys and enterbay. I love terminator stuff but we need some fresh new figures like kyle reese or a good tx or t850 already:impatient:

I agree on most points, except the one in bold. Those licenses are not at all lame for most Asians, and I guess EB, Bill particularly, tried to show a lot of love to his own in the beginning. I think EB tried to take small steps, not wanting to compete head-on with HT right away. I never really cared for their early releases too, til they came out with the 1/4 Arnie and Batman. With those figures it's obvious that EB's already started to rattle HT's cages, for as some of you pointed out, HT seemed to have patterned DX10 from the EB 1st Arnie that was highly acclaimed by most fans, though they ended up copying even the weak points.

Yes I can see that, I guess I should have stated that those licences were lame IMO. I wish enterbay the best with there company and hope to see them do well, I would like to see them start to make stuff I like in 1/6 scale, seeing as they have the rambo 3 licence I could get into a 1/6 version or rambo 4 would certianly be a big hit for them.

Fair enough :)

While their previous 1/6 releases were also top-notch likeness-wise (Their Tommy Lee Jones IS Tommy Lee Jones, as well as their Will Smith -- too bad that release was plagued by QC issues), I htink those who don't have any space and budget constraints wish that EB would stay focused on their 1/4 scale. And I think EB has that in mind too, as most of the franchises they announced shall be done in 1/4. Which again tells me that EB really wants to stand on a class of their own instead of competing with HT head-on (though it seems that HT won't let them. HT really wants to get all the money even trying to compete with NECA's 1/4 Preds soon enough).

Also, worthy of mention is the upcoming 1/4 Kamen Rider, that's a testament of Bill's love for his own.

Agreed, there mib sculpts were great looking aswell as the django ones, I just have no interest personally in those films. Seems like there saving there iconic figures for 1/4 scale, and if thats there thing thats cool. Its just theres a bigger 1/6 audiance out there that have zero interest in 1/4, I bit on terminator but not likely anything else.

True. While I welcome 1/4 scale seeing how great EBs sculpts are particularly Batman and the BD T800, my main concern is the space, same as most collectors. I guess this is why some would stick with their DX10 and 13 and held out on the 1/4 Arnies much as they wanted to add them to their Terminator collection.

If it weren't for the enormous dust accumulation at home I wouldn't mind them displayed in the open.

Though I'm eagerly waiting for their 1/4 Robocop :thud:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Yeah there wonderful looking pieces for sure, however for me there to combersome to handle and pose. I feel kinda silly messing around with them, I'm not a small guy as I'm 5'11" but it feels like i'm handling a toddler or something:lol

I'm not hating on 1/4 scale its just not something I'm that into, 1/6 is feels right too me, easy to pose and handle, displays great on a shelf, less cost, and all the detail is there. 1/4 really don't bring much else to the table aside from size and presents on the shelf, clothes hang abit nicer but in the end its just a really big version of 1/6 in my mind at least.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Skull good point on the Rambo 3 or 4... totally fell asleep on that... wtf happened to the Rambo 4 announcement?

A rambo 4 to me would be grail unless they could replicate the rambo 3 at the beginning with the sticks... I hate the HT rambo 3 now...

That said here's three of my pro's and con's for the DX10

Cons

1) If this is the Cyberdyne version then F*K the shotgun, where is my (thoooong, thooooong) gun, (fergot the name at this moment... anyone? teargas gun anyway)

2) F*K tron... if I wanted a tron stand I would buy one off ebay and put some ***** T2 stickers on it :slap

3) F*K the chip in the head nonsense - gimme a jacket with some bullet holes in the back and some wear...

Pros

1) This leather is really starting to "hug" the figure, soon I think it will really fit well on this figure, with no worry for cracking or short shelf life.

2) It's the moment in the film where Arnie does some serious damage... Minigun in hand, literally hundreds of cops clueless as to what to do... nice to use official HT parts

3) This figures collectors value will skyrocket once the storm passes and BD becomes old news...

Yeah was going to do the teargas scene with the extra head from the DX 13:impatient:

1) agreed, didn't need another shotgun

2) I like the stand but the Cyberdyne Systems logo would have been nicer instead of that endoskeleton torso design.

3) I love the chip feature so I'd keep that. A bullet holed jacket would have been nice aswell :D

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I'm glad to have the shotgun. The majority of the time, my figure is displayed with it.

As far as I know, it's the collectors that assigned the title "Cyberdyne version" to this figure, not HT. In reality, this figure is equipped to recreate nearly all pre-bd, grey t shirt scenes with the exception of the endo arm and the addition of sunglasses.

Don't forget, if you're a stickler for scene accuracy, the tear gas launcher is useless with a non bd T-800!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Well, for those like yourself who didn't buy MMS117 yeah, you need the shotgun I suppose.

Just its a pity they didn't think to (or chose not to) include the teargas launcher with either DX10 or DX13.

At least we get the steel rod.

Yes indeed. Thats one of my favourite pics of DX13. Can't wait to set up that exact look where he cuts the T-1000 in half.
