Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Not good enough to merit a new version and slap DX on the label.

Pfft. Cyberdyne T800 will look good on my shelf with Galleria T800. :wave

The future DX19 Police Shootout T800 and DX26 Steel Mill T800 will too.

Add them digitally.
Not bad.

Yeah, that does look better. The problem with the sculpt is definitely the eyes, around the eyes and the eyebrows.

Folks might be better off using the first MMS 117 version as the Cyberdyne and this one as the one with the shades.

Bet the PERS is under the head though and uses a magnet. Though, I thought the same thing for '89 Batman and we know how that turned out.

The rounds are smaller due to the limitations of 1/6. The shells could be made to correct size, but then the M79 would need to be made larger to fit them. Give and take. :dunno

Why make them to be loaded into the M79, wouldn't it be better to make them proper scale to the movie to enhance the overall look of the figure than to make sure a somewhat "toy" function works?

To me my biggest gripe is the ears. They are too sticky-out. Im still getting him though.

I would agree just making them dummy shells. But some people like the working detail. Kinda the same with handguns with sliding barrel.

This is what I'm going to do.
I guess the body size will be close if not the same. Just swap the clothes and it should be fine. :)

Despite the light package coming with this DX, I can't pass on a Cyberdyne T-800. Just can't. :(

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

All right I spent a week out in the sticks so I missed a few things. I didn't bother reading this thread so I may repeat whats already been said. Im a massive Terminator fan but I gotta tell you...this is a waste. Im actually surprised they did another clean sculpt. WTF!! I already have this figure. Although its funny because I just recently bought the coomodel 134 and a grenade launcher :lol So I guess I'll be swapping them, out for this. As much as a Terminator fan I am I can't see me shelling out another $200 + for a figure I already have. I just don't have that kind of money. Plus the PERS is totally ____ing up the sculpt. Man, it just doesn't look right on certain head. It reminds of what the PERS did to the Indy figure. They should have went the BD route. WTF. I guess they'll just milk it and do that one down the line. I dunno...

When I read replies and the first line is negative I ignore the rest. I love the figure. It's pure Schwarzenegger.

Now the decision...order from AE and get it cheaper than from SSC,,,but its only gonna be 20 or so cheaper and getting from SSC we get it earlier......( plus SSC got the free shipping):dunno

For me it's def a better looking sculpt. Not "Adam Gu better", but still...

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Hot Toys should do some research in regard to if the figure buying community really want PERS or not... it seems they use PERS in order to justify a redo, but i have a feeling the majority of us would be happier with a sharper sculpt with painted eyes...

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I think PERs is a cool feature and when done well can really have great results, the best example so far for me is the Keaton Batman.

In most cases though it seems to compromise the sculpts in the eye/brow area.

The thing is we never know if we want it or not until we actually have it to look at. There is such great PERS that has came out with the other DX's bar a few. A great PERS head will trump a great fixed eye head every day of the week. It is just a case of every now and then there will be a hit and other times a miss.

Thats because they sculpt the hair overly tight on the sides so that the sunglasses fit. I wish they hadn't done so on this version, he shouldn't be wearing sunglasses anyway....although I must say if the figure looks like this with sunglasses:

Well that actually looks pretty good IMO. Better than they look on MMS117
