@dev, yeah it looks unusable to me. Better let him know to ask for a refund, I'm sure he'll comply.

there was a custom set on ebay recently: pants/belt/black shirt/grey shirt for T2.
i wonder if you got one of them instead of original parts.

Yup, humidity is a pain in @$$. I've had figures that I've barely touched, kept inside glass cabinets stuffed with silica gel, that still rotted away for no reason. It's not like it happens to every figure though- all of my 8 Terminators are fine.. so far. :lol

If you don't mind me asking, where do you live?

Can get humid here in NY. Hope that won't affect any figures

I saw 2 listings of that - one that was over $200 which I deemed too expensive and another that was something like $35 - the latter disappeared. So I didn't know what to make of it. I decided to stick with what I knew, DX10 parts.

No, I don't mind, in fact I've mentioned it a few posts back. I'm in Malaysia, where the humidity is trough the roof. :lol

I should have dug deeper and looked for that post. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question

Nah no problem. :duff

I would say though, that the Terminator stuff generally holds up really well. I don't think there were much (if any) issues with them breaking down. A-dev's problem was that the seller must have most likely kept the suit in storage way too long, in which the stagnant air would have started to cause damage. It's always best to have figures displayed with some circulation.

I've had stuff stored away in boxes for a while that I've been intending to sell at some point. I better check it all over before I actually do sell it. Particular T4 John Connor version 1. He was already deteriorating when I put him away.

They look like bleach spots.

I only say that because a few weeks ago I was cleaning cups using Milton sterilising fluid. And afterwards noticed those same marks in a similar colour on the jeans I was wearing. Couldn't work out at first how they'd happened, then realized that the Milton must have dripped onto them.

Yeah they kinda look like that. But I've seen similar marks over the years on 1:6 clothes being sold by other sellers in Malaysia - in those cases the seller knew of the issue and noted it in the listing.

How do you message ebay sellers without formally making a complaint and maybe putting a blot on their record as far as ebay is concerned? Or is there a way? There seems to be no option to simply send him a message without immediately making a formal demand for a refund or opening a request to return.

???
there is an "ask a question" button to any item on the item's page - or "contact seller" in your "my purchases" area.
don't you have them?

There seems to be various differences between ebay.com and ebay.ie (Ireland) I now see various options that weren't there earlier today. :dunno

Yes, there ARE differences between eBay.com and your localized version, even so far as item listing. You can't sell your items internationally too if you're listing it on your local eBay. Messaging however, should be standardized so try looking at the links to "contact seller".

For me, if I receive a defective item, I will always ask the seller of what he thinks it's the appropriate COA first, and on rare occasions where they wouldn't budge, I would open a case and call PayPal. Works in my favor ever time.
