Just out of curiosity, when you get access to the press area, do they ask you to hold off on posting the images to forums for a few days? Or do you just do it out of courtesy?

I know. I did feel bad when I re-read how that might have sounded.

After viewing the Hi-Res shots (thanks Josh), I can't say I am totally thrilled with the Wraith; but it does look MUCH better then the Weta melted Morgul Lord.

If the production ones end up looking that good and lets face it, half the time the real statues in hand, end up looking better then SS PR images, then anyone that waits for it to ship (especially if the ES is 1000), is going to likely miss out.

Also, looking at the hi-res images, it seems that the 'rock' part is fixed to the base. I guess the only question is if the Fell Beast is fixed to it as well.

Even so, just imagine the nightmares the packaging designers have been going through. O'well, nothing much to do but wait till around June for it to ship.

There were quite a few statues in the SSW line where the rocks/earth were part of the base, and the rest of the statue attached to it. I would expect the beast to be separate, but who knows?

I'm trying hard not to think about it. I don't want yet another damaged piece when I receive mine.

All I know is, this isn't a piece I would want to chance with purchasing on the secondary market. I'll gladly pay the extra few dollars and order directly from SS just in case of breakage during transit. I don't know how those large, thin FB wings are not going to break during shipping. Is all of that material polystone? There must be some sort of internal wire structure to improve structural integrity.

Yeah, but I would imagine it would be real hard to get it to totally look just perfect at that scale. This just might be about as good as it can be at that scale.

It's managed to bring back that SS/Weta excitement again.

It never left me. Every piece that comes out for LOTR takes me back to that level. Glad to see this piece did this for others though.

Well, I for one never like the wording "Diorama", sounds like a plummers tool! I have seen all of the other Diorama's SS has made and well, they are quite boring, they look like those cheap plastic models you have to paint we all bought sometime or other in our youth...
I was terrified what SS would do to this one, but much to my suprize I was in awe! This thing is actually cool! I cant wait to display it on my beast shelf, along with my Mumak SSW statue, and with the SSW Fell Beast. My guess this item will have the wings to attach and may have the eagle as 1 piece, just too long to have it shipped in one piece. I personally could give a crap about the edition size, who freaken cares, if you like it order it reguardless of the ES! Man Sideshow has caught my eye with this piece and to have the flexpay as a option, how can you go wrong???

Well, Let me put it this way, not my style, ok?? Just dont like the "plastic model look....

I hear ya in how cool THIS one is, finally a fully, spread winged Fell Beast!
I have not bought any LOTR items in about 4 years or so, not that I lost interest, just the items, GG, SS just didnt catch my eye, until this piece.
WAy to go, FINALLY SS!!

You must look at some high end plastic models then cause these aren't even close. They IMO are equal to anything really in the SSW line.

I never lost interest in collecting LOTR. I love it too much to have that happen.
