After looking at the 3-D view, I'll need to add an extra room onto my house just to display it. Looks very cool, but seems impractical for display purposes.

PSSSST, this is The Lord of the Rings, not Viggo statues etc......

Get back to whatever you like.......:google:rolleyes:

Lord of the Rings THE MOVIES whether you like it or not! :lol
Based on the characters AND actors who portrayed them in the movies not some random interpretation. You probably think the Aragorn PF looks nothing like Viggo from the movie either or maybe he just HAPPENS to look like Viggo.........................

Ah well each to his own.:D

Have no idea where I am gonna display this piece its very wide and so many bits fragile bits too sticking out, will have to move it when the little uns come to visit!! Looks amazing though as expected! :D

Displaying this [and keeping it dust free at the same time] will be a nightmare. There certainly aren't alot of glass cabinets wide enough to hold this "beast".

So the faux bronze has detachable wings?

I would imagine the regular would have them too... Hmm.

Oh, and Woodsy? I'd trade you a Cave Troll LSB for a SS/W Cave Troll anywhere, anytime. ;)

As tempting as that offer is, I think I'll hold onto my cave troll statue, but thanks for the offer :D

Man what movie did you watch, the actors who happened to, egh hum,to ACT, well acted say like the charactors who Tolkien wrote about...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Not Viggo....:monkey4
And the Statues were based on those same charactors, HELLO....LMAO, I am sure, I may be going out on a limb here but Tolkien or even Jackson did NOT write the book/movies with Viggo in mind......duh.......

Ok I think you are misunderstanding something here MFB, you are correct, no one wrote the book or film with VIGGO in mind no one is saying they did, thats plain stupid, but they DID base their attempted sculpts on him yes thats VIGGO MORTENSON because he happens to be the ACTOR who played that character in the movie so its natural that we are looking for VIGGOs' likeness in Aragorn because lets be honest they didn't use that much make up on Aragorn, you can still tell that its Viggo, so naturally when buying the statues BASED on these movies one is looking for some likeness to the actor who played the character. Yes its Aragorn but its Viggo M's Aragorn and no one elses interpretation and thats as it should be.

And hey before you DUH anyone again, this is just my opinion ok thats all it is, an opinion:confused:

I gotta say Mo, as much as I'm a 'Weta lover', I have to say you're clutching at straws on this one! Some of the actors actually posed for the sculptors. Ian McKellen did that's why the Gandalf pieces are good. They had photos of every actor at different angles to work on. These are pieces based on Peter Jacksons films, so they are based on HIS characters. I agree the likeness issue doesn't bother me either, I know what character it is, and I just accept that on some pieces, Weta weren't going for a spot on likeness. They're much more interested in their creature sculpts!

Thanks Frodoeyes for adding that I was trying to get that point across. :bow

So the fellbeast will have detachable wings? I'm suprised the eagle dosen't have them detachable as well. IMO, they should have made it real bronze. That will go for a really nice price.

I must admit, I found that a bit interesting too. I mean when you look at the hi-res images of it, the body to wing really does look like one single smooth peice.

Unless of course they cheated, and the preview item is all one, its just the production ones that will be detached.

As for the backstage pass vid, yeah, its huge, but totally amazing. No way could someone walk into a room and miss it.

I am still taken aback by its beauty and immensity. This is an absolute must-have for any LOTR fan. I can stop looking at it....:emperor:lol

Well maybe you can, but I can't take my eyes off of this thing :D....and you're right, this is a must have for any LOTR fan.
