Well maybe you can, but I can't take my eyes off of this thing :D....and you're right, this is a must have for any LOTR fan.

...a must?...them be some strong words...IMO...SS/Weta Sauron is a must for all LOTR fans...but thank God we are all different.

Sideshow definitely has a homerun with this one. Who needs an exclusive version of this (oops,I forgot there's only one of that bronzed version), when this is awesome from the get-go! It doesn't matter what edition size Sideshow's making on this one, I'd personally admit this is the best LOTR dio to date that they've made, bar none. Let's just hope nothing gets botched along the way (cos we still need to receive it in our hands intact and with a great paint app). Still hoping they don't make the eagle with glossy feathers . . .and don't tell me that's just the lighting!!:monkey5

Also, this is the Daddy Balrog of the Sideshow-only LOTR line.

Preorder, or cry to your grave. :D

I think that is WAY too bold Vlad. When this piece reaches the 2k plus mark that the Original Rog does call me. If I had to choose between the two I'm going Rog.

Give it time Josh he might be right but then what the hell do I know I don't own Daddy Rog so I'll shut up now.................
But I will own this beauty yes I will!!:D

And you mean your not getting this one??

I'm not sure yet. I have it on pre-order w/SS , but, I am still trying to decide. I watched the Backstage Pass and I think it's possibly the best LotR piece I have seen since the break-up of SS and Weta...it's pretty awesome looking.

It could be and I'll have this as well. So either way its awesome. :D

The Rog days have come and gone (at least for LOTR), SS is much too big a company for that now and the ES accomodate just about anyone who wants something.

..... but where is my ML LSB. :monkey2:monkey2

Well, I didn't compare it to speculate on its aftermarket price, rather to point out that it will be the gold standard against which all of Sideshow's own LOTR poly will be measured from now on. Both are masterpieces, and in the case of the Eaglerama, this shall just be more and more apparent as time goes on.

*skips to grave*

...sorry, I am of the few who aren't moved by this piece...at least not moved enough to drop that much doe on it...:monkey1

This is how I felt about Daddy Rog back in 2002. Sure it was great, but $300 great? Nah, no way. :monkey1:monkey2

Tell me about it, sitting there and saying $300!!! Oh hell no!!:google
And a few years back considering $1000 for the same dam thing!!
Well needless to say daddy Rog is not in my collection and will not be anytime soon, I could kick myself for that one!!!:emperor

I agree man in that SS really did good on this one, considering the cheap plastic models that they have already made :D  .
$300 is a bit steep and if the edition size is a larger one, secondary market purchase is a viable resource for a cheaper buy, but SS does stick by any breakage issues and or discrepancies so in the end, it may be better off with a SS purchase, let me know if you do keep it. BTW, was it you that was trying to sell your Barad-dur SS print?

Moe, remember in the Weta days all those pieces you thought weren't that great then ended up loving? Well I think you'd love the crack of doom dio - detailed, and affordable! And you'd like the Helms Deep one too. They're not plasticy - it's the pure smell of LOTR polystone! And also fantastically sculpted.

Although it pains me to agree with MFB :lol, I'm not a big fan of the first two dios either. Now I'm not going to go as far as saying they look like plastic models or they're not done well because they are, they just don't do it for me. And I own both. This eagle vs fell beast looks fantastic and I think it can stand on it's own.

PS. Making fun of John Elway? :huh How's Jay Schroeder doing? :rotfl
