The store in question was Kollectable Kaos.

I have dealt with them before and they did come through for me with some real hard to get helms, this was about 5 years ago, I did try to order a few statues that were avail on the website BUT was sent an email telling me that they were sold out....I am sure they dont have a real time website and thatjust adds to the issue with SS shorting retailers. I live in the US and during the last end of SSW items coming in even my local retailer was getting shorted on their amounts and this was with the edition sets at 5000+!! So I can imagine how the smaller edition sets are going haywire, did the retailer sell the item for a discounted price from SS? I am sorry for your shortage BUT hopefully you will get one as it is just AWESOME piece!! Some members here have mentioned their dislike of the Dio so,

CAN ANYBODY HELP A FELLOW BOARD MEMBER OUT???

Yeah, I think depending on how sales go, they can end up with some items just sitting on the shelves and yes, their website isn't real time from what I know, its manually changed. Even then, sometimes it can get mucked up, between their two stores. I know once, the website didn't list the 7 of 9 PF as being in stock, and yet the store that I usually go to had one on display (this was long after she had been totally sold out). I almost didn't get her, so glad I did now.

As for the Fell Beast vs Eagle, I'm good now, got one on order from DSC (Adam) who took pitty on me and worked out a good postage deal. I had hoped to avoid the whole overseas shipping and all that, but given my February pre-order just wasn't quick enough, I'm left with little option.
Still, I'm getting, all be a bit later then most others, but way better then not at all, and thats what counts :joy

Congrads!!
I know the shipping can get crazy as the set of 4 helms+1 that I did order from them was just crazy but I WANTED THEM and could not find them over here for a cheaper price...YOU WILL LOVE THIS PIECE, enjoy it!!!

cheers Red, tho I don't actually have it yet, so given that I had thought I was all set locally, maybe I shouldn't jump for joy just yet till I do indeed have it in hand.

PM5, shouldn't you at least inspect the other one, since if it is damaged, chances of getting a replacement soon may well be pretty limited.

I am seriously thinking of sending this back as the paint job is pretty crap compared to what I have seen on here, its dull and lifeless and on such a dynamic piece as this it's just not good enough for me, not as blown away as I thought I would be, its disappointing as was really looking forward to this one. With the next PF coming I just can't afford mediocre paint jobs on my stuff when there will be better pieces to buy. Congrats to all of you who got a great paint job, it really makes all the difference.

I think everyone got the same paint job. Internet photos tend to vary based on the lighting conditions and how the digital image was processed. Regardless, I still don't think it takes away from it being a very dynamic piece. How about commissioning someone to have it repainted to the standard you were expecting? Please post some of your own sample images.

Well unfortunately I have it boxed up now for return and its a nightmare to unpack never mind pack so I am afraid I can't post pics, however I have to say I disagree with you Blu Falcon on everyone getting the same paint job as many times in the past I have seen paint differences on here, and I don't think its the lighting or camera shot I am sure some would agree with me on this. There was no glossy effect at all on my statue as in the pics posted here even in bright light, the eagle almost had a matte finish which gave it a dull and dusty appearance to me. Plus thanks for the tip but realistically I don't see why I should have to pay anyone to custom paint a piece that already cost me $299 plus customs/taxes and shipping!
Anyway I'll stop whining now and let all of you enjoy this piece! :lol

Have you seen the pics I posted of my dio? I would argue that it does indeed look pretty glossy in these photos. But in fact, it's actually got more of a "matte" finish than anything. How you just described your dio is exactly how mine looks in reality. These photos were taken with a DSLR with an off-shoe Speedlite. Trust me. If I were to take photos of yours under like conditions I guarantee you I can make it look like these. It's all in how you set up the shot and how you post edit to acheive the result in the end. I'd invite anyone over to my home to have a look.

My best guess is that the most recent photos seen in this thread at Statue Forums has undergone a similar treatment in terms of lighting and post-processing. You can easily spot the color temperature variances in of some of the photos. And considering the use of backdrops and how the shadows are well controlled, the photographer obviously knew what he was doing and how to light his subject.

But I can understand if you had high hopes for this piece and it just didn't live up to your expectations. That's completely understandable. But if you're sending it back in hopes of getting a better replacement then I would guess that you wouldn't be very happy with that either. In the end you ultimately have to be satisfied, and that's all that really matters. $299 is a large sum of money to have to part with, so I can definitley relate to that. ;)

So, after all the fun I had on getting one, it arrived today and I'm really happy with it, if anyone is thinking of getting it, do it now, while you still can.

I got number 30 and here are a couple of not so great pics, had to use the flash, just no sun today.
