Sports have always been a huge part of my life. It's hard for me to not take them seriously. I'd a die hard fan of my 3 teams (Blackhawks, BoSox, and Ravens). I pretty much live and die with the Sox and Ravens right now. I'm so passionate about them and at times it's a great distraction.

As far as the Raven's go,it's very hard for me to not be emotionaly tied to a team I work and root for players that I'm friends with. I just wish they'd play a full 60 minutes instead of only 45.

Your Ravens thing is very understandable. As for the rest I used to live and die with sports teams too and I still get upset when my teams lose, but I just can't take it AS seriously as I used to.

If the Redskins win or lose I still have a life to live. I used to be PO'ed all week until the next game. It's just not worth it.

There is a big difference between being a die hard fan and letting a loss affect you for a week though. I have plenty of friends that are Skins fans and they are not in a good mood today. They'll get over it though and it surely doesn't affect their work. I wouldn't go around making fun of them right now though. At least with baseball, your team plays the next day.

I will admit that I'm usually a nervous wreck before any Sox playoff game though.

I'm too depressed to write something witty... Wait.. Listen carefully.. I think McNabb just got sacked again.:monkey2

Did you see Strahans quote? It was kinda funny because if you seen the interview he actually felt bad for the guy.

Quote of the night
Michael Strahan, on the lack of help the Eagles gave Winston Justice against Osi Umenyiora:

“That poor kid they had over there, why didn't they help him? I'm 35.[Jon] Runyan's an All-Pro. Go help that young kid. You could ruin the guy in his first start.

“In Philadelphia, [if] the poor kid goes out and orders some food, they might do something to it.”

Strahan had one sack to reach 133½ for his career and break Lawrence Taylor’s franchise record.

Like the Philthy's would be in the playoffs had the Nats not swept the Mets?

Go back and check your records. The Phillies also swept the Mets, twice, and the Mets fell apart period. Really don't think it had to do with the Nats. Phillies earned their way into the playoffs, simple as that.

And now they'll lose to the Rockies in the first round

GO SOX

Man, you guys are turning a football thread into a baseball one by me simply saying that the Phillies have more hope for Philadelphia fans than the Eagles :D

Also, the Nats didn't sweep the Mets. The Phillies swept them, and haven't lost to them since June. Now that's a sweep. The Phillies are a great team, don't count them out.

I just figured you guys didn't want to talk about the Eagles :monkey1

And the Phills are by no means a great team. They have the worst pitching staff of any of the 8 playoff teams. And we all know pitching wins championships.

They have some great hitters but I would never pitch to Howard in the playoffs.

Who said they didn't paly well an earn it? I am just saying had the Nats not swept the Mets in the next to last series of the year the Phillies would not be in the playoffs. It's a simple fact.

All about the heart baby, all about the heart :lol

Yeah, i'll agree that the pitching is really weak (except for Hamels and Kendrick).
