So anyone else get the email that eBay fees will now be taken out of shipping as well? F'n jerks... just another way they continue to screw the seller.

Oh well, now all of my shipping quotes (I just use a flat shipping rate) will go up by a couple of bucks :huh

Has anyone ever dealt with buyer doing a charge-back?

I sold a game on ebay and after it was delivered the buyer filed a claim with paypal for a charge-back. The money is now being held by paypal and I can't use it / transfer it to my bank. I've submitted the USPS tracking info etc to paypal to show that the item has already been delivered. Also sent email to buyer but haven't heard back from him/her. If anyone has dealt with a similar situation I would appreciate if you could tell me how I can get this swiftly resolved and get back my money. Thanks

That is f'd up. If they'd just have someone look for the over charged shipping prices with low BINs, they wouldn't need to resort to this. Now if you up your shipping prices to reflect the new fees, a buyer and could potentially complain of shipping overcharging because the prices don't match. Just going to be a whole new round of headaches for everyone. I'm just glad I do my best to sell on boards instead of ebay at all costs.

Blame it on those that sell the item for cheap but make it back in the overcharged shipping.

Also the paypal only thing has nothing to do with buyer protection, it's cause Ebay (who owns paypal) did not make any money off money orders or checks.

Nah, I just blame it on Ebay being as greedy as they always were.

The people selling low with high shipping to compensate are pretty rare considering how many auctions are out there.

How much does ebay charge you of the final sale price these days? Not sold on ebay in over a year after their crazy fee jump of the products you sell.
I might be forced to use ebay again,i need quick money right now.

Any help would be appreciated so i know what they will charge me.

Thanks.

It's pretty high--the listing fees are actually lower than they used to be, but the final value fee is ridiculous. I sold something for $800 that had a final value fee of $50, and that's on top of the $25 to be able to receive the payment through paypal (which they own). Having such high fees like this is so ridiculous, since the resources required to give you the service is so cheap--it's not like selling something for a lot is any harder for ebay than something very cheap, yet they charge like it is.

But of course, there's no good alternative.

Has anyone tried selling through Amazon? I buy a lot of stuff through sellers on there.

Yes, for several years, but it has its pros and cons too.

Listing has always been free. The final value fees are quite high, but include processing of the payment.

Shipping paid by the buyer is a fixed amount ($3.99 standard) depending on method, not weight, which tends to make you money on lighter items and cost you money on heavy ones. Additionally it costs $0.07 to print a shipping label through their system.

Listings used to have 90 day limit but now seem to be perpetual. You can adjust all your prices from one screen at any time, with an option to see the lowest competing price relative to condition or overall, which is very handy.

On that note, media products tend to be less differentiated so you have to compete with retailers. I try and buy from people that appear to be private individuals, so mentioning that might help you stand out.

Yeah i know they're high as that was the reason i haven't sold on ebay in over a year, but i wondered how much it is today.Im planning on selling something worth 2000$.

I'm EFFIN done with leaving people feedback . My feedback number should be at least 25 - 30 scores higher . Its ridiculous because i leave the buyer feedback as soon as they pay , like a good ebayer should . And me as a buyer i also leave it as soon as it arrives at my house and all is ok .

So my solution is , F&^K it , i'm not leaving anymore feedback.:lol

even after numerous messages sent with no responce

anyone else have people that never leave feedback?

I'm waiting on about 10 people who need to leave feedback... and I left it for every one of them. I have one more big ticket item to sell and that might be the end of it for me for a long time. The fees really are a kick in the nuts.

A seller emailed me to leave feadback for them as it was only fair as
they had left feedback for me.
My response was......I'll leave appropriate feedback for you when I take delivery of my item (the art of Sucker Punch book).
And yes I'm still waiting for it, at the end of this week it will be 4 weeks. As the book is coming from the UK and I'm in Australia 3-4 weeks is the normal waiting period. So if it comes by Friday I'll still leave him/her a positive..:lol

I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item, but since the feedback policy change, I don't get feedback from sellers a lot of the times. They probably figure why bother.

Ebay blows, but really there is nothing else to use if you want to sell items online. Selling on Craigslist locally for me is nearly a waste of time because everyone tries to get everything for "I got $100 in HAND!", regardless if the item is a brand new lamborghini or a $500 cellphone. So really with craigslist I dont even bother. I have yet to sell any items on forums, ever...period. So sadly I have to keep resorting to ebay to unload any items, especially if they are collectibles that only a small group of people collect.

I wish someone would come along and really stick it to ebay, sadly that day has not come and really I don't see it happening anytime soon, so they can and will do as they please. Ebay did such a good job advertising there company years ago and now its just a household name, like Google.

If i list my item for 2k on ebay, they will charge me 20%,plus paypal fees which is 5%.25% total. That's just insane!!!

I sold 8 things on eBay this week and 6 are INTERNATIONAL. Norway, Chile, Spain, France, Japan, and I forget....

I realize Express mail gets you tracking but is there another way to send things and is good enough for Paypal?
